SUMMARY: Well, my first review here, after what? Three years of being a member, and I'm going to review Timesplitters 2. Good start, eh?
Let's start with the positives, of which I feel are few. Mainly, do not buy this if you're looking for a singleplayer experience, as it's lacking. The bots can offer a challenge when you're playing multiplayer, but only if you bump the difficulty up to near maximum. The only way to play multiplayer is with 4 or more human players, and then use bots if needed. The 100+ characters also offer a bit of variety, though they're only cosmetic. Their stats don't mean much if you're an experienced FPS player.
The storymode is also very long winded and, in my opinion, boring. The first mission requires you to try and get into a building without being spotted. Nice idea for a game like Ghost Recon, but it doesn't cut the mustard here.
All in all, if you're buying for Multiplayer, then it's a g...
THE GOOD: The games wide range of weaponry gives it a good lead against some other shooting games. Also, it has two parts to it - the mini games and the story. I liked the mini games best but I don't know about you. If you purchased this game you are lucky, as you practically got two games for the price of 1. This game earns 4.3 in my opinion.
THE BAD: The graphics are a bit of a let down which is a big shame as this game could have made it real big. Also there were some major glitches like in the scrapyard on the arcade you get a brick and go to the door of the building. Go in and you will be standing on a small metal bridge. Throw a brick over the side of the bridge and a annoying noise will come up. I don't know if this infuriates you but it wouldn't go away.
SUMMARY: Overall I think this was a good game, apart from some letdowns. It is one of my favourite combat type games due to the adrenaline rush that comes over you when you play it. I recommend this game to people 10+ even althou...
THE GOOD: ~The graphics ~The game play ~The many game modes ~Fun
THE BAD: ~Story is a bit weak ~A bit to cartoony for some
SUMMARY: This game at first did look a bit dodgy but I looked at what it got out of the Official Aussie Mag and it got 9.3 /10 which is really good. I got the game thinking that it would just be an average game, but I was wrong, this game is awesome.
The game play is the major asset I look for in a game, as a game could have crap graphics but it is fun to play. This game however has really fun game play that will last you for a long time. There are many different modes such as Story mode, Arcade league, Arcade custom (as well as system link), challenge mode and map maker mode.
Story mode can be a single game or you can take 4 of your buddies and kick ass. There are only 10 missions though for you to choose from but they will take you across different time periods like the 1630's right up to the 2460's. There are some cool levels but the story line is weak as all you really ...
THE GOOD: Extraordinary awesome multiplayer feature! So fast and furious! The story mode is also awesome, because you can play co-op, just like Halo. Graphics are tremendous, have never bugged. Halo have really found it's contender in this game.
THE BAD: The only thing has to be... ehm, that you will have to grow tired of the game after a long, long time.
SUMMARY: First, the game has so many features, such as the challenges/arcade leagues, where you can struggle in several weeks/months to achieve all the gold medals. The story mode must, of course, be finished on hard-mode, which is HARD work! Some say the game is too short, with it's 10 levels, but it is a HARD game, and needs time and sweat to master. If you have friends, multiplayer mode will have you playing for ages! It simply rules. Thumbs and toes up!
Timesplitters 2 has to be one of the best games on the Xbox at the moment. It's general quality is outstanding and, even if the game has been out for a while, it is still worth playing after this time.
The Story Mode is very interesting, to say the least. Going through time portals to different times, to collect crystals and kill off people along the way. Including zombies and the ocassional baboon type thing that shoots lightning. The 3 different levels of gameplay all offer something different. They get longer the harder you set it, each more challenging then the last. The levels are varied in setting and each has its highs and lows.
The game is challenging, but it comes with a Challenge mode too. This is very entertainging, if not at times stressfull. You are set a challenge, for example, I'll take the first one. You have to throw bricks through some windows in a set time. The quicker your time, the bigger your reward, a medal. This is very challenging and is very interesting to pl...
THE GOOD: Awesome mulit-player, good graphics, good gameplay, good storyline missions...
THE BAD: Repetitive missions, poor aiming system....
SUMMARY: I liked the game but it was basically just you're standard First Person Shooter. The multi-player however was amazing. It includes over 40 different types of games and I still haven't had the chance to try them all out. I bought the game mainly for the multi-player but I found myself playing the storyline missions as well. The game is addictive, entertaining and fun. I hope you all find it as fun as I did.
THE GOOD: Fairly good gameplay, plot and cut scenes. Good variety of weapons on each level, and the 2nd best multiplayer(next to Halo, of course). The Map Maker mode is helpful, but it freezes my Xbox frequently.
THE BAD: Difficult to know where you're enemies are shooting from, HORRIBLE aim. I HATE the auto centering thing. I HATE IT! The graphics could be better
SUMMARY: All in All A great game but a few minor things that happen frequently, such as not being able to shoot as fast as I'd like, the Auto centering thing, and a slew of other irkers prevent this game from getting a better score.
THE BAD: trust me...there is nothing bad about this game...just rent the game and find out for your self.
SUMMARY: for those that think that the "self-aming" crosshairs are the only way to kill the enemys, then your just plain idi0ts. for those who dont know, if there is no crosshairs on the screen, it will AUTO-AIM at the enemy for you... AND you wont have to point your gun all the way left of the screen to turn left and point you gun all the way right of the screen to turn right. now you use the "self-aming to snipe you dumba$ses, and you use the auto-aim for combat! now if your having trouble killing the "mutants" just shoot them in the fri<kin head with the "AUTO-AIM"!!! its not that hard, they go so slow its not even funny.
