Just the other day I was thinking about what I would have done in WWII if I was captured and placed in a German P.O.W. camp. But luckily, I can experience that with Prisoner of War by Codemasters for Xbox. Well, lucky for you that I am here to tell you to save your cigarettes and contraband (a.k.a. money) and purchase something more meaningful, like suspenders.

You play Captain Lewis Stone, who is investigating suspicious activity around German P.O.W. camps. Your partner, Lieutenant Daly, and you are shot down. Both of you bale out, but Stone is captured by German soldiers and becomes a temporary resident of a camp. Of course, living in a P.O.W. camp without a thought of escape is preposterous, so Stone and Daly devise a plan to escape...only to be captured again. THE GOOD:
Originality,gameplay, stealth, setting, great recreation of a Nazi prison camp.First hand experience of a true to life prison break! Suspense and heart pounding intrigue at its best!

THE BAD:
Difficult to say, nothing really stands out.

SUMMARY:
OK so it took me a while to get an opinion of the game, but I finally got one, and its a good one. I play games to experience them, everything else is bonus, graphics, sound etc. So when an original tittle like this comes along, offering a player the chance to experience prison escape, what else can you ask of these developers. So far the game has delivered. At first I was confused, waiting for someone or something to show me where to go, but that never came, aside from a few hints from other prisoners. The map is vague and its hard to read the signs, so the first day, I thought perhaps the game was lacking. But then I began scouting the grounds and trying...

Glad that I rented this lousy game first because I won't be buying it. Never heard of CodeMasters till now and my impression wasn't good. I've played this game for about a day now and have managed to cause the game to freeze SEVERAL TIMES!!! As a Senior Software QA Engineer for over 8 years in the industry, there is no excuse for such a poorly developed game. Looking at the credits, there appears to be only 3 testers that worked on this title. Get real CodeMasters, you need to invest more in QA. If you want my $$$, you'll need to develop better quality games and fix those CRITICAL bugs. Also the camera angle can get real annoying at times, for instance, when crouching or coming out of sidling I either can't move the camera or the the camera jumps to a different angle. There are more problems with this game, but I think you get the idea.
