Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance

THE BAD:
Sound, simplistic combos, tedium of unlocking stuff in the crypt

SUMMARY:
Having never owned a Mortal Kombat game before in over 20 years of gaming (yeah yeah, slow starter;)) I thought it was time to try one.

Initial impressions were good, after a couple of mins with the instructions I had a profile created and was getting stuck into arcade mode.

The Graphics are pretty good, some nice arenas (although the ring outs are better than invisible walls on the ring) and the fighters look good and move around quite swiftly. Particulalry like the blood running down the outfits effect, and the bruising on the faces after they take a particularly good beating.

The sound is the standard stuff of generic rock music and standard effects, nothing special.

After a few minutes play however, something started to not feel right - I was progressing...

THE BAD:
short list of starting characters
the konquest mode is anoying!
combos can be hard to do

SUMMARY:
mortal kombat at it`s best. the characters could have been better but i liek what i have. theres something that will keep you playing it for a while.when i got it, i went out to get MK:Trillogy cause i was suddenly into the MK series

overall this game kicks ass. the graphics are the best in the game world. although the bloody stumps have me...stumped? i`m not sure what they really are...odd. but yeah, it`s a cool fighting game. the best fighting game. the koins give you alot to work for. so that`s a plus. get it, it`s worth i say 40$

THE BAD:
Only one problem in this incredible game and that is the fake looking blood but you can turn it off permenantly so no problem there at all.

SUMMARY:
This game has the best replay value of any game i have played. It would take months just to open all of the coffins and even after you have mastered each characters fighting styles there are 9 more to unlock and two hidden characters to master, each with their own three authentic fighting styles, I have not even begun to scratch the surface of telling you how good this game is. The game firsthand is very addictive, many other fighting games are super deep but they fail to keep it fun at the same time. Mortal Kombat returns with new special moves and fatalites. The game was originally famous for being fun, not for having any martial art authenticities. But now its back with a perfect blend of deepness and fun. This game is appropriate for...

THE BAD:
Lack of stuff...Moves, fatalities, originality you name it, it's lacking.

SUMMARY:
Let me preface. if it's Mortal Kombat, I've both played it and loved for the past ten years. Even parts 3 and 4 and mythologies. Needless to say when I heard MK:DA had been uncancelled I was ecstatic. And then i bought it.

When we think MK we think OMG did you see that type of game playing elements. While MK:DA has some they 're substantially missing in others. Quick run down...

graphics, sound, control schemes and fun factor all rock. The down side really come from unused potential. The new characters are a mix of really good (Nitara, Kenshi, and Frost) while the others (Drahmin, Mavado, Hsu Hao, Bo Rai Cho and Li Mei) are horrible horrible horrible examples of wasted space.
