Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance

THE BAD:
The cutscenes are way too long and the camera angles are very bad.

SUMMARY:
First off I would like to say that this game would have been given a 4.5 out of 5. The gameplay is awesome and heart pounding. The stealth action that is imployed into this game and all the different features is a big turn on. What really makes this game great is that you can go on a rampage or go try the more stealth approach which benefits people who like certain types of games. Also, another thing really great about this is all the different gadgits and objects that allow you to get through the level.

THE BAD:
FPS lag when you go out side in the rain. controls.

SUMMARY:
Well Metal gear soldi has come along way from its glory days on the Nintendo entertainment system(old school). To this modern day 3d wonderful game.

This Version of substance is just a copy of the ps2 verion with less features. It was release before and got less.

The controls are kinda strange at first but then get easyer to use. I mainly dont like the xbox controller but you get use to it.

The gameplay is basicly the same from Sons of liberty. Very wonderful.

The graphics are were this game shines. It is just beautiful to look at. Very many details and very little slowdown. Unless you choose to venture outside into the rain. Then it goes to sh*t. That is the only real problem with this version...

THE BAD:
On the down side it has very long and drwan out non inportan codec message's.

SUMMARY:
I would have to say that it is a good game all in all if you can get pass the long codec and video sequences its fun and exticeting finding out new ways to kill and knock out your Emmys after that I would half to say its rating is a 3.4 but that's my opinion not yours.

THE BAD:
Nothing in this game bothered me except for the difficulty on the VR Missions sometimes, but for other people the graphics aren't improved from the original game (they were spectacular to begin with though) the stroyline might get confusing, you have to read the Snake Tales cinemas, and the VR missions happen to repeat themselves.

SUMMARY:
This game is AWESOME! I love it immensely, as if I didn't love the original! There are so many extra features that I'm still stunned! There are a plethora of VR and Alternate Missions, 5 Snake Tales, a skateboarding mode that you can unlock, Casting Theater, Boss Survival, new costumes, and a ton of little added bonuses in the main game. Now from here on this isn't going to be my standard review of graphics, sound, control, etc....

THE BAD:
A noticable decrease in framerate on the tanker and other stages that deal with water, becasue of the special algorythm designated specificaly for Playstation 2 hardware that could not be corrected due to the deadline, but you get used to it.

SUMMARY:
Being a seasoned Metal Gear veteran, I must say that this is by far the best game in the series. Everything you can do, the different game modes added exclusively for substance, it all adds up to make one awesome game. There are five snake tales, story lines starring Solid Snake that take place in a seemingly different Metal Gear universe. There are five hundred VR missions, with a moderate learning curve to make sure you got it down before they throw you into the impossible. Also there is a casting theater, where...

THE BAD:
Kind of difficult to control the characters and obviously undersand the story line.

SUMMARY:
i had this game for a few days until i got ahold of the splinter cell demo. after playing that i returned MGS2 for a full refund and reserved splinter cell with the money. substance is a great game, but once nov.19 comes around, its reign as the best stealth-action game on the xbox will end and splinter cell will take over with ease.

THE BAD:
Not really bad but hey:
The camera is not workable, therefore you need to quickly get used to the radar, for those areas that are not quite visible. The storline, as mentioned before does get confusing, but hey it still won't stop you from enjoying this incredible game.
