First off, before I go on ranting let me tell you what I liked about Manhunt. The killind you inflict onto your enemies is awesome. If you love blood, and you love to see people suffer, or your a goth, then grab popcorn and play this game because it will feed your hunger like Pamala Anderson breast feeding a starving baby! The dark story and view were greagt. Never have I seen such a dark game since....ever.
Now, lets get to the glacier that sunk this Titanic. The enemies suck. For one thing they are way way way way way way way too easy to kill and sneak up on. You can just walk and they won't hear you. They can't see you in the shadows even though they are standing 2 feet away and they are dumber then retared rocks. And if you did your math correctly then you should get this: Good Stealth=Smart People, Good Stealth+Idiots=No fun. And since this game is based around stealth then the whole game is sunk.
The game is also repeitive. When I first killed someone with a trash bag, I was giddy like a little boy during Christmas. But after the 6th one it felt liek deja vu. Now take the same ol' method of sneaking up on people and multiple that by 40 times then you got Manhunt. I have never seen a more reptitive game since Aqua Man.
Finally there is the hand-to-hand combat. Now I know that with stealth games the hand-to-hand comabt should be hard. But there is a fine line between hard and crap. Blocking, involves you not doing anything. I know. The only way to block is by standing still. And it doesn't even work. I still get hurt.
So, if your a hardcore gamer who looks for true quality then you'll see this as nothing but a way to watch people get stabbed, shot, and hit a extreme amount of times. If you love blood and seeing people get killed then go ahead and buy this. Manhunt had it's fun "Ooooohs" and "Ahhhhs" the first 15 minutes but then after that it was deja vu. Sorry Rockstar, stick to GTA. |
