Deus Ex 2: Invisible War

THE GOOD:
Graphics are fantastic, just like in the first game. Three different ways to end the game. There are some secrets to unlock. As expected, it is very interactive and depending on what you choose to do the game will take in different directions.

THE BAD:
I liked the plot of the original Deus Ex better. Good aliens? There is no such thing!

SUMMARY:
One of the best, if not the best, RPG games ever. It keeps you hooked up all the way through the end. There are few secrets to unlock as well. Some of them worth the time to search for on the web
This game can be challenging at times and requires some skills to fully master the weapons. The sound track is one of the best of all the other games I have played. I give it 4.7 only because I still think that the original Deus Ex is the one that worth a solid 5.0.

When Warren Specter first created Deus Ex he created one of the few genuine videogame masterpieces. A game that will justifiably be remembered as a classic years after its technology has dated; IE it's still regarded as a classic now, simply because the game gave you previously unheard of levels of control over the story of J.C Denton, a genetically augmented agent who teamed up with his brother Paul to take down a sinister government conspiracy.

A sequel was always in the works so that any loose ends left over at the end of the first game could be tied up and the story given a satisfying resolution. That sequel arrived a few months ago in the form of Deus Ex: The Invisible War which caught my attention based on the name and found its way onto my rental list before I had seen, heard or read anything on the game beyond the title. With those kind of expectations buzzing around you could perhaps say that a disappointment was always inevitable, but to be honest all I was hoping...

THE GOOD:
First person RPG, open-ended gameplay, multiple solutions, ranging difficulties, excellent graphics and sound.

THE BAD:
Framerate could use some help, needs more interaction between NPC's.

SUMMARY:
Dues Ex 2: Invisible war represents what Console RPG's should be. It's incredible when you can see a PC title hit the Xbox and with similar quality (sometimes better). In this case the Xbox does it better because you dont need a $1200 dollar computer to enjoy it! The Xbox runs Dues Ex very nicely, but could be improved. The game itself stands above many of the FPS of this year, and adds an interactivity none other can compete with. The game is trully open-ended, and allows you to complete missions in so many other ways. If you wish to play through the game with a one track mind you can! it does not require you to complete every mission for every faction, but allows you to make that choice for yourself....

Graphics: The graphics in Deus Ex 2 are astounding and very well detailed, but the lighting effects are perhaps the most excellent part of the graphics. Move a lamp a little bit, and the lighting of the room changes accordingly. Throw a lamp and watch the light on the walls as it tumbles around. The only thing I can say that was bad about the graphics was that the faces seemed a little jerky at times and there wasn't much emotion in them. Otherwise, the graphics are superb. A+.<br><br>Physics: Wouldn't normally put this in a review, but IW has a new physics system that is incredibly awesome. I spent about ten minutes tossing around the first body I found, watching as the arms flap around and the body slumps down a wall into a sitting position. You can even play basketball. THE GOOD:
A "Choose Your Own Adventure" game. You can customize your character, even the game itself.

THE BAD:
The characters had very jerky movements, and their faces were without expression. In my opinion, there are too many options to choose from.

SUMMARY:
The best way to describe this game could be like a futuristic James Bond adventure game. It is so cool because you get to "think outside the box." You can customize this game to play it anyway you want. You can take the side of the WTO, The Order, or become a rogue. I chose to be a rogue which seemed to make the game more interesting. You can customize your character: male/female, any race, weapon selections, or biomeds choices. The only drawback to the options is that there are so many to choose from, you could waste time figuring out which ones are important to game play and which ones are not. I was puzzled with the "M" rating. Pretty tame...

THE GOOD:
Excellent Graphics and gameplay, a unique story, and an awesome openended world, YES!

THE BAD:
the VOs are kind of blank

SUMMARY:
... I am speechless. This game does it all right. it offers a unique gamplay style that incorporates three sytles of games: First Person Shooter, Strategy/Stealth, and RPG.

Even if you like only one of these genres, you will still like this game since thay are all equally in play. The game is kind of like Metroid meets Kinghts of the Old Republic, meets Half Life. You are a genetically enhanced soldier working for a secret government body that is controlled by an evil organization that is threatned by a fanatic cult that hates technology. Confused?
