THE BAD:
They make it so the camera moves along with the ship. Makes you feel nauseas. Well, it makes ME feel this way just looking at the screen for a very long time. It's really annoying if you ask me. I mean, I know it's supposed to do that but a person can get sick looking at it for hours.
The upgrades, good grief. You'd have to be made out of money and those tokens just to get one measely upgrade for one little aircraft. Good god...
You can only turn solo every once in a while. I don't like the fact that Nathan actually allows those two girls to follow him around and drive him nuts. I'd tell them to leave me alone. Well, I'm not him...
The lost city. Oh my goodness... Next their going to say that it is the lost city of atlantis. I am sorry...
THE BAD:
Kinda difficult. The "old planes and dogfighting" themes won't appeal to everyone.
SUMMARY:
This game garnered quite a bit of attention by being voted "Best Xbox Live Game" a couple years back. The story is almost something pulled out of the Golden Age of Hollywood-you're some famous '20s actor who's a fighter pilot on the side, flying antique plains against both old-school and more modern technological wonders of enemies.
The game looks really good graphics-wise, as the planes and other craft show ecxellent detail, as do the characters who fly them and play various other roles. There's also a lot of good dialogue in-flight between characters, often things like noticing mission critical details, exchanging orders, reporting problems, etc. The music is appropriate for the game but quickly gets dull. Controls...
THE BAD:
It was just a little short, but still.
SUMMARY:
Just an excellent game, Official Xbox Magazine rated this game i think a 9.1, it made it in there top games catagory.
I really enjoyed this game, becuz its fun, has good graphics and a good story, and much more
i dont really like any certain type of game, i just play a variety, from first person shooters, to platform, to puzzle, to sports games, and crimson skies is a very cool, good controlled game.
They took there time on this, its fun to just even fly around and look at the view....compared to the new games now like halo 2 etc. it may not compare, but this came out a long time ago, its still a great game, i would recommend it to anyone!!
THE BAD:
Just one....Not being able to collect parts and build your own plane.
SUMMARY:
I love this game.I haven't beat it yet,but i'm more than halfway thru. The first thing you notice about this game is the graphics...they are superb! The water effects, the exploding Zepps(big blimp-like things). The gameplay is fun,fast-paced and easy to learn. This game is a good challenge even on Normal(not to hard, but not super easy either). This game also has a good storyline with nice cutscenes. And unlike most action games,it's story and seeting are very original...I mean it's set in an alternate 1930's universe, how cool is that. The main character,Nathan Zachary reminds me of Han Solo,he's a charmer,he smuggles(sometimes)and he doesn't mind messing with the law.I don't have Xbox Live yet,but this game is fun...
THE BAD:
Haven't found any yet
SUMMARY:
I recently bought this game for $19.99 at some big sale. I thought it was too good to be true. Well, it was. This game is scary good. I have found nothing bad about it. This game is challenging, addicting, immersive, and fun. Oh, and did I mention the graphics? Brilliant. This looks like you're actually in a plane. The water looks so real it's creepy, and you cringe when there's an explosion. This game takes place in an alternate U.S.A. in the 30's. Basically, the U.S.A. has been divided up into nation states after WWI, and instead of cars, everyone flies planes. You're a pirate type of thing, stealing and earning money whenever possible. You're also the head of your gang - the Fourtune Hunters. Your home is a zepplin called Pandora. The game starts...
THE BAD:
The VOs could be better, and the music is repetative
SUMMARY:
Crimson Skies is an attempt to make an "Indiana Jones-ish" storyline that incorporates multiple missions per level and does it really well.
The game takes place in an alternate United States that is overrun with Hollywood Banits and Mexican Banditos, oh and did I mention you fight bandits. The game incorporates a unique gameplay style that allows you to use the XBox controller's duel analog sticks to pull off classic stunt manuevers. This adds to the feel of the game (which is already great) and enchances the gameplay.
The story is reminiscant of Indiana Jones (as I mentioned before) and it has some pretty good dialouge although aside from the overall concept, the story is mediocre.
However, I can only recomend this game to those who truly enjoy...

SUMMARY:
What can I say about this game? Original? That's good. Attempt to remember one time in gaming history where there was a flying game based in a highly technological 1930's and I can stop right there cause there haven't been any.
You play as Nathan something first trying to get revenge for the attempted repo'ing of your Zepplin and your airplane. You lost them in a poker match. You suck. Well anyway you progress through the game mostly trying to solve your good Dr. friends murder. It alaso come to be that this Dr. had plans for a 1930's weather machine. Sucks, huh? You try and solve his murder and come up against legions of enemy aircraft and enemy Zepplins. Troughougt each level there are several things to watch out for: Upgrade tokens that, when coupled with a few thousand dollars upgrade a plane of your choice, and nifty new planes. Another...
THE BAD:
Repetitive music and objectives
SUMMARY:
I was anticipating Crimson Skies to be a pretty snazzy flight game having been designed by the same guys who made the realistic flight sims for the PC. Unlike those flight sims tho, CS is very unrealistic in gameplay. The complete and total inability to stall your plane is a fine example of such.

That being said, I immensely enjoyed a lot of the game thanks the to the dogfighting aspect and option to man Anti-Aircraft guns. The different planes to choose from and option to upgrade each one with merit points is expected but not disappointing. There are some nice tricks you can do but I was hoping for different tricks depending on the plane you flew. Some of the special weapons are neat but nothing out of the ordinary.

I found the music to be somewhat repetitive, to the point...
THE BAD:
Controls may not please die hard flight sim fans
SUMMARY:
This is not a flight simulation as any reputable reviewer has and will point out, but having been a big fan of this genre (but still a console owner??) Crimson Skies was nontheless a must buy game. At first glance the quality of the graphics are the first thing to hit you, in particular the water in the first level which has been brilliantly done. Playing around for a few minutes you soon begin to pick up the controls and the realisation that the emphasis of Crimson Skies is firmly on gameplay. The cutscenes gluide seemlessly by, from refueling to starting or ending a mission, which adds to a deeper sence of invlovment then many games trying a similar trick have (in my opinion) managed to achieve. The speed of the game has recieved critisicism but hang on for half an hour and let the complexities of 3D...
