THE GOOD:
graphics, storylineTHE BAD:
game is very short, no melee weapons, repetitive gameplay SUMMARY:
a friend of mine got Max Payne 2 for Christmas and we decided to give it a play. we had both owned and beaten the first max payne and enjoyed it quite a bit (xbox version for him, pc for me). unfortunately, the sequel has left us pretty frustrated. the differences from the first max payne are pretty minor.....a couple new guns...bullet time combos (which aren't even necessary to beat the game)...better graphics. other than that, it's the same old thing over and over. find a door, open it, kill a few guys while diving across a room, rinse and repeat until level is over. we played for about 3 hours or so and were on the 3rd part of the game already. that'd be fine, except for the fact that there are only 3 parts to the entire game! this game's replay value is nearly zero. the extra modes of play are next to worthless and nothing new. after we beat max payne 2, that is, if we can find the motivation to actually play any more of it, it will collect dust or most likely be traded in for a game that offers a little more of everything. |

This game is exactly like the first Max Payne.....but its on fire and going at Mach 2 through the ski! This is a couple of years after the first Max Payne, and now hes with the NYPD.
I'll start with the story. I have never seen such a dark and depressing story in any other games. It was dark, and deep. The plot was thought out a lot, and it done very carefully. It has everything, from love to hatred. But, it isn't for young kids mind you.
Then theres the graphics. What can I tell you? The graphics are awesome and so clear. Usually everything is blurry and has no shape and isn't sharp. Well, Max Payne is the complete opposite of that! The characters are beautifully detailed and well made, and it never lags. Plus, most of the glitches were taken out of this game.
Gameplay is still basically the same, but with one major thing: bullet time. You slow down time around you, but you don't slow down. Its also really fun, because you could send a guy flying with bullet time. As I said, besides bullet time, this is just basically the same type of gameplay.
Now, I bet your all wondering what is bad about this game? One is because it is a little short. I finished the game in only 3 days, which is really pathetic. If the game was longer, I would of given it a much high rating. Also, the gameplay, as I said, is still basically the same but with bullet time. And last, but not least, the enemies. The enemies failed to stop me and kill me many, many times. Just to sum it up, they were to easy to kill.

THE GOOD:
the graphics, the sound, bullet time combo, and the best story telling of any game ever made. and lets not forget BASEBALL BAT BOY!!! and lets not forget Mona SaxTHE BAD:
well the first game had 5parts and this one only has 3parts, its not as long as the frist one buts its not enough to damage the score of the game. They dont let u use the baseball bat or lead pipe as a weapon anymore.:( SUMMARY:
Hands down, one of the greatest action games ever created. Great graphix, great sound, great physics engine and great story make the game even better. Whats the game as well is that they dont try to make the game all revolutionary, they just kept the game simple and FUN. The physics engine really helps the game out alot, I dove head first at an enemy and shot him in the face with a sawed off, while in mid air shot him and he started to do a back flip from the first shot, then i landed on my back and shot him the the second shot while he was flipping and he started to spin into a pile of boxes and they all fell on him.
Those who have played and beat the last Max Payne wont be dissapointed. And to those who are just looking for a good action game can't go wrong.
Oh yeh and Vinnie Gognitti in the baseball bat boy is the funniest thing ive seen in a videogame in a loooong while |

Nothing really,just some small glitches and a problem with bullet toime,nothing that bad though SUMMARY:
This game has all that and a bag of Goggnity autographs.This game leads Max back into police work,and another one man war.There are lots of fummy parts you have to listin to.PLus,Vinnie and Vladimere come back,as well as a return visit to the new Ragamarock.People need to beat the 1st MP to understand this.The bullet time engine has picked up,as well as new weapons like the AK.Yall have to play this.Buy it before the cleaners clean it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
