SUMMARY:

I'll start by saying that D00M III on Xbox is much different to the PC version. The game is similar, although certain levels have been redesigned to eliminate tiresome backtracking. However, the key aspects of difference are the co-op which is available online and offline, and the Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition is where the game really begins to pack some value. The additional features, for just a few dollars more are Ultimate D00M and D00M II, in all their glory, single player, co-op and death match. Furthermore, concept art and a small documentary on D00M III is also thrown in....

THE GOOD:
Awesome graphics, sound, and music. Fast, intense gameplay with some fresh elements. Multiplayer available via split screen and Xbox Live. Limited Collector's Edition has great extras included.

THE BAD:
The game is a little slow to get going at first. Some long load times, especially at startup. If you've played the PC version, not much has changed here. Does not include the Expansion Pack avilable for the PC version.

SUMMARY:
After blowing everyone away on the PC, Doom 3 makes a virtually seamless transistion to the Xbox, and it's just as violent and scary as ever. The main plotline hasn't changed much: You're a new space marine who's been sent to a monster-infested hellhole on Mars. You have to use whatever you can get your hands on to wipe out the endless waves of evil monsters you'll face before they kill you. You'll face numerous types of enemies but can fight back with some incredible firepower like machine guns, rocket...

THE GOOD:
scary as hell
amazing graphics
great enemies
smart A.I.
amazing storyline
great weapons
amazing lighting effects
amazing physics

THE BAD:
needs better multiplayer

SUMMARY:
This game is probably the scariest game I have ever played. This game is so much better than any other game I have ever played. This game will have you playing till the very end and scared the entire time. When I played this game it made me feel like I was really there. If you love FPS's and scary games buy this game. Make sure you get the limited edition because it comes with Ultimate Doom and Ultimate Doom 2 and a bunch of extra art and G4 interviews in it. Doom 3 has definitely pushed the Xbox to it's limits..

THE GOOD:
The lighting realy is what makes this game scary. All of the demons are incredablly detailed. Accually every is good in this game.

THE BAD:
nothings bad...

SUMMARY:
From the graphics to the sound this is a great game. Not 1 thing is wrong with this game. The graphics are the best part of this game. Nothing can compete with the graphics. From the detailed demons to the interatve inevororments every thing is great about the graphics is great. The sound is awsome too. The entire game sounds musical. With the 6 stereo surrond sound if something is sneaking up on you'll hear it or if your in a dark corridore you'll hear whispers. Also the sounds from the commandos and the marines from the radio makes the game scarier. The gameplay is great aswell. The overall game is better then Halo 2!!!!!!!!

THE GOOD:

-The terrifyingly brilliant graphics. It really pushes the Xbox to the extreme. I'm telling you now, watching a giant half-robotic bull empty some random guys intestines onto the floor in crystal clear graphics is a hell of an experience.

-The impressive array of weaponry is enough to make you drool, literally! I had to buy a new Xbox controller after my first play.

-The sound. Oh boy, the sound alone is enough to make you hide under your bed covers, never mind everything else!

-The enemies are a force to be reckoned with. Extreme detail has been put into designing these guys, and they pack one hell of a punch!

THE BAD:

-The torch. As you may have heard, or seen if you've played this game before, the torch can be a real pain in the ass. Constantly switching from torch to weapon, then weapon to torch can be tiresome. Not to mention how hard it is shooting blindly into the darkness in attempt to actually hit...

THE GOOD:
This Game shows the power and technology of the XBOX. The flickering lights the dim lights make this game scary. With over 40 differnt levels. This game makes it very challenging. And each level gets harder each level u get too. The music sets the tone. You are more cautious in this game than other first shooters. In halo2 i wasnt as cautious id just go to a level and shoot everything I see or charge into rooms. This game im always looking around. WHen they re designed the creatures they made them look way scarier than in DOOM 1 and 2. If you play this game at night. It gets even scarier which I liked. U Wont master this game over night Like most games u will. In the end it will take you awhile to master this game.

THE BAD:
There isnt much down fall to this game, but there should of been more should of been more characters. Fighting the same people over and over again. Kinda gets boring. They should of pull out suprises and added more creaturs to...

THE GOOD:
For those who don't like to think what effect one or the other action would evoke, but instead just like to run around and shoot every monster that materializes from the thin air, in front of them and behind, this is almost a perfect game. There's not much else to do. Just run, shoot, pick some health and ammo, save, repeat. Surround sound is very good, albeit there is no music, just groans and some other weird sounds. Maps are quite large. Dealings with bosses require at least some kind of thinking. This game keeps you on edge all through and it will make you jump out of your sit quite a few times especially if you crank up the sound and turn off the lights.

THE BAD:
1: Annoyance of not being able to use a flashlight together with the weapon. There should have been at least an option to do it.
2: The most of the maps are way too dark considering the above.
3: Little to none interaction with NPC. The same goes for stuff like crated, boxes,...

THE GOOD:
Graphcs and gameplay really make this game what it is. The presentation of this game is what kept me playing. The music scares you, the enemies are look way to real and the frame rate is solid.
You also get coop over live and system link, along side death match. If your lucky enough to get the collectors edition, you get doom 1 and 2 with coop and deathmatch.
Its just a solid shooter!

THE BAD:
Some of the parts are slow, but there taken out in coop.
Its not as scary as i really wish it was, but its still the best shooter on the box.

SUMMARY:
When i first heard doom 3 was comming to xbox, i was glad. I knew i couldnt run it on my computer without a horrible frame rate. On my xbox, the frame rate is smooth and there is very little slow down. The gameplay is solid and works well with the xbox controller. You can even set a diffrent weapon to each one of the d-pad directions.
The story is somewhat exciting and the...

THE GOOD:
It makes me pee. The graphics are definately pushing the Xbox to be all it can be. The sound makes Silent Hill look like a kiddie game. The extra included on the LE version are great. Concept Art,talking with developers,I also like the fact that you can save anywhere. I need to cuz I get scared.

THE BAD:
I heard there are over 40 levels? I also watched the concept art for the game on the disc and I really don't want to fight any of the creatures. Only because they are creepy

SUMMARY:
Turn out the lights pump up the surround sound and lay some plastic down on your chair. You will definatley be seeing your ortho doc for the carpal tunnel it will bring. I fortunately have had splints made already. So if you haven't bought it already take a couple days off and grab some Dew cuz you will not want to put your controller down.

I have written several reviews on neoseeker, including a review last year of the PC version of this game. Now I don't write reviews for EVERY game I play, only the ones that have left an indelible impression on me. Sometimes it's good (see my review of The Chronicles of Riddick) sometimes it's bad (see my review of The Punisher). Sometimes, like with Half-Life 2, there just isn't anything more you can say about a game (incredible, mesmerizing, spectacular) that hasn't already been said. Thus begins my review of Doom 3 for the Xbox.

Defining moments for game systems. This is a subject that I have written about in a lot of my reviews. I truly believe that there are certain games that define a system and should NEVER be traded in. For instance, the Gamecube has Resident Evil 4, PS2 has God of War and Nintendo 64 had Goldeneye, just to name a few. Some systems have more than others; Xbox started off with Halo, then came Chronicles of Riddick, followed shortly there after...
