Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007

THE GOOD:
-Smooth play
-Realistic teams
-Masses of tricks and moves
-Superb animation

THE BAD:
-Poor referee
-Computer cheats excessively
-Lacking graphics

SUMMARY:
This is the first football game I have ever bought, although I have played other Pro evolution soccer and Fifa games round my friends houses, I've never felt the need to spend my money on one. This game seemed like the perfect opportunity, it was cheap and next gen.

I must say my very first impression was that of distaste, the menu screen music was appalling, and the layout seemed somewhat old fashioned. I continued to play a quick match against a medium difficulty player. My first discovery was the team names, many were made up, such as Chelsea, who are called "London F.C". This seemed a little confusing.

I was not impressed by the graphics, which were of a low standard for any 360 game, the textures were bland, the environment...

THE GOOD:
Realistic football experience, vastly improved graphics, great multiplayer and online modes.

THE BAD:
The commentary is as bad as ever, the shooting takes some getting used to, most Premiership teams remain unlicensed.

SUMMARY:
Pro Evolution Soccer is a fantastic football game. But then, so was Pro Evolution Soccer 5. And Pro Evolution Soccer 4. In fact, the series has constantly been setting new highs ever since its debut on PSOne as International Superstar Soccer those many years ago. It sets its own standards and with the bar having been raised so high, people can be forgiven for having such huge expectations for a Pro Evo game being released on a system two generations after the one it debuted upon.
