Apparently I've read this before and already deemed it as "helpful"? D:

Oh well... excellent review overall. It's a damn pity this game isn't what it was hyped up to be because the old MoH games were a big part of my young gaming days. Very well-written and love the use of similarities with other FPS games. I'll give another one of your reviews a read shortly too.

The problem is the shift in markets. Medal Of Honor (which I guess you could call Sony's answer to Doom and Goldeneye) was a highly influential game to the first person shooter market, but eventually, the sequels just flooded the market (like the Call Of Duty sequels actually), and after a while, it was a tired series that needed a rest.

Unfortunately, when it came out of its rest, the world had forgotten all about Medal Of Honor, and this game was made not just as a commentary of the war in Iraq, but to ride the coattails of the older games... which could've worked if people actually remembered what Medal Of Honor used to be while playing the interchangeable Call Of Duty sequels. Because of this, most of us saw it for what it was - a mediocre game.

Thank you for your comment, Eric. Much appreciated.

Curse my growing amnesia!

I definitely agree. I bet if games like Call of Duty and Battlefield (not to mention any other FPS games that aren't as successful) weren't released annually, this could've been viewed as a lot fresher than what it was and maybe you'd have even enjoyed it a lot more than you did. It's actually hard - looking for FPS games (particularly soldier-based ones) without thinking "oh another one!?"

But it was pleasant to read anyway, as well as your latest review. Both portray really nice language and they're put together so well. Be sure to let me know if you have any future reviews up.
