THE GOOD:
I liked that they added the forge. I mean playing the level preset is okay, but being able to create your omn level, now that's tight.

The graphics. Don't get me started, these graphics are the best yet. I mean better then Halo 3: ODST. All I know is Bungie probably spent a lot of time working on the graphics.

I liked how the Master Chief's armor had battle damage all over. Once again that must have been hard inserting all that design to the armor.

I liked the idea that you could earn different types of armor for forge and custom games. My favorite is the Security armor was the best out of all of them.

I liked the new vehicles also. The hornets were the best because honestly the hornet is a lot stronger than a stupid banshee. The Mongooses were okay but not my favorite.

The different types of brute. The fact that in Halo 2 they didn't have it was stupid. The Brute chieftains are my favorite, especially in...

A first person shooter; a lot of hype; 10/10's right up the ass; rent-worthy campaign length... Is this what you would imagine in a "game of the year" competitor? To be frank, yes, it is. Halo 3 is a first person shooter which gets a lot of high scores from paid reviewers, even though when you actually get around to playing the game, it's...playable. Yes folks, Halo 3 isn't a total shitsucker, but it's not as good as what's been said. The campaign is fairly inconsistent as I either fall asleep or really get into the action, and the multiplayer, while far from perfect, is pretty fun to play, provided the field isn't filled to the brim with 12 year olds abusing old internet memes and singing Dragonfoce. In short, it's playable enough to enjoy.

To begin the review, here's an overview of the Halo trilogy. It revolves around a war between the Covenant and the earth forces, and in an attempt to dominate the Covenant, the earth forces find Master Chief, unfreezes him and he then...

THE GOOD:
-Good Graphics
-Armor Customization
-Great Online Mode
-Lots of different types of games to play Online; Slayer, Capture the Flag, etc.
-Plenty of Maps to play on
-More New Weapons (And plenty weapons in all)
-Lots of "Extras" like the 13 skulls, etc.
-Campaign Mode
-Co-Op Campaign Mode

THE BAD:
-Co-Op Mode ends when one person leaves the game, regardless to if they are hosting or not, and everyone is forced to start back at the lobby.
-Story is difficult to follow if you haven't played the first 2 games.

SUMMARY:
Ah, Halo. Halo has been around since 2001. Halo was the first game, and it became incredibly popular. Since then, they've made Halo 2, which had new maps, guns, and other features. You can bet the Halo Fanboys were happy about that. Well I'm not one myself, but this game, Halo 3, was pretty impressive. It was released a while back and there's talk of a 4th one. But for now, we'll...

THE GOOD:
  • Campaign
  • Online Experience
  • Bungie updating the game
  • Forge Mode (Map Editing)

    THE BAD:

  • Graphics are not necessarily bad; just not amazing
  • Online matchups
  • Online Lag

    SUMMARY:
    First off, I just want to say this was my first Halo game I really played. I never play Halo: CE and played like two levels of Halo 2 Campaign and about 10 online games so I am in no way a biased fan boy.

    Campaign - 9.0

    Campaign is full of awesomness; especially co-op. Nine super cool levels with an interesting story. I personally played through the campaign once by myself on Normal Difficulty and had a blast. I then did it co-op with friends on Legendary and had even more of a blast. Halo is just one of those games where you will have a ton of laughs with friends. Again, we ran through it to get all the skulls. I went back a fourth time to get the metagame/point...

    THE GOOD:
    Excellent Graphics
    Background story heavily expanded
    Great Multiplayer
    Large amount of new features from armor permutations to forge and theater modes.

    THE BAD:
    Doesn't have the same feeling as the first
    Creating custom gametypes is a bit trickier
    Menus seem too expansive and detailed

    SUMMARY:
    I can't review the third game in the series without first saying something about the first two. It's just not right

    Firstly, I'm a massive Halo: CE fan. This may make me biased, but oh well. It's very hard to remain unbiased when reviewing such massively popular games as these.
    That being said, I didn't like Halo 2 nearly as much as others do. I still feel that it brought a lot to the table, but I was left wanting.
    Anyway, onto Halo 3

    Single Player
    Personally, I'm more of a guy that likes very well put together single player campaign, than a purely multiplayer experience. I...

    THE GOOD:
    Best graphics of the Halo series, fewest glitches, smoothest running. Expands the Halo Universe exponentially. There are so many extras in this game like the terminals, 13 skulls, armor unlockables, etc. The multiplayer playlists are even more fun and random than Halo 2 and feature such gametypes as Rocket Race where you are invulnerable to all damage except assasination and you pair up with a teammate to ride around on mongooses to checkpoints. Much like the Race gametype in Halo 1, but with rockets and mongooses. Campaign has recieved a revamp as well. If you are playing legendary co-op when one partner dies you dont start out at the beginning of the level.

    THE BAD:
    Most, if not all of the problems I have faced are with the Xbox LIVE component of the game, which isn't really Bungie's fault. That mostly has to do with incosistency in close range combat. The only Campaign flaws I have noticed are that later on in the game, it is very difficult to...

    Halo 3, this is the first Halo game I've actually played that I've passed and played a good amount of time. This game is really the very difinition of overrated by critics, I just saw that it's nominated to be Game Of the Year and I couldn't disagree more..This game is just popularity, almost no quality that makes a next-gen game a next-gen game. First of all, ain't even gonna lie, I don't see much of a difference between this Halo and Halo 2..The background textures don't look next gen at all, Master CHief looks pretty shardp, but your Marine friends really have to work on their textures. Animations are Sluggy and stupid. You fly up 1000 feet in the air sometimes for no reason, some explosion just comes outta nowhere. The music doesn'timpress me neither(nowhere near as good as The Darkness's) cause it really doesn't go with the game when there's an exciting soundtrack playing in the backgroung and you're just walking around shooting an occasional grunt from a ghost(like you do 1000...

    THE GOOD:
    Epic Encounters
    Intelligent AI
    Lots of weapons and vehicles
    Excellent lighting and water effects
    Online game play
    variety of game types
    Somewhat improved combat system
    new support weapons
    Campaign scoring mini game
    its easy so causal players can pick it up on the go
    Forge mode

    THE BAD:
    Choppy character models for humans
    unbalanced matchmaking system
    odd physics
    campaign way to short
    Friendly AI still make mistakes
    Weapons run out of ammo a bit too fast
    sometimes lags during online play
    too much back tracking.
    way to easy for hardcore gamers.

    SUMMARY:
    Ah yes Halo 3, the long awaited sequel of Halo 2. Since the cliffhanger ending of the 2nd game, fans and fps fanatics have been wanting to get their hands on the 3rd and final game in the Halo Trilogy.

    Ill start off with the campaign. You play as the Master chief, a super...

    THE GOOD:
  • Extremely detailed character, vehicle and object models;
  • New vehicles and weapons;
  • "Havok" physics engine produces amusing deaths;
  • Character customization is decent;
  • Theatre mode.

    THE BAD:

  • The melee system;
  • The spawn system;
  • Being put into games with players who have much more experience and/or a higher rank than you;
  • The erroneous gravity; Master Chief must weigh at least a ton with all the armor he's carrying around, so why does he jump like he's on the moon?
  • The criminally short campaign.

    SUMMARY:
    After 6 years, we're finally ready to finish the fight, but does it meet expectations and live up to the colossal amount of hype it received?

    Nope.

    Let's get started on the campaign. Apart from being criminally short, it feels, more than anything, recycled. The maps are as linear as they were in Halo 1 and 2. Heck, Bungie have...

    THE GOOD:
    -Amazingly detailed skybox paintings
    -Epic "Halo" confrontations
    -Pretty bloom lighting and nice texture work on some objects
    -New vehicles are a blast to drive
    -Replay recording right out of the box is amazingly fun to play with, even if it is very bare-bones
    -Co-op modes are a masterpiece of programming and technical achievements even if you hate the story
    -When new weapons do make their appearance, they are pretty amusing to use

    THE BAD:
    -Either beautiful or ugly character models, nothing in between
    -The weapons are the same lot we've seen in previous Halo games and the more powerful ones take up so much damn room on the screen that it becomes a detriment carrying them
    -Terribly unrealistic gravity and damage modeling, even though the game takes place on earth
    -Bland physics and buggy Havok support (I cannot tell you the number of times I've been meleed in multiplayer only to watch my character...
