Having reviewed a CSI game several years ago, I was fairly confident I knew what to expect. And, for the most part, nothing has really changed with the franchise. This is a point-and-click adventure that requires little thought. There are some nice improvements to the interface and it's certainly more enjoyable to play around with the evidence. The real disappointments is the lackluster interrogation system and the repetition of locales. If you're a CSI fan, you're probably better off just buying the DVDs of some previous seasons. But, as a rental, this is actually enjoyable enough to play through the end.

"If you're a die-hard adventure apologist with a CSI fixation then step right up, but the rest of you can put your curiosity to one side - especially at its current stupidly high price point."

Hard Evidence offers few surprises and even fewer challenges throughout its five undemanding murder mysteries.

"As for replay value, you can pretty much forget it. The five missions follow the same structure, hauling you through an hour or two of dull pointing and clicking."

"CSI: Hard Evidence is a vast improvement over the previous CSI game, but given how absolutely rubbish that effort was, this shouldn't really be taken as a compliment. Yes, the environments are all 3D now, the case-breaking bugs have been squashed, and the actual mysteries will keep you guessing...but that's only just enough to keep this one off death row."
