: : : : : Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be the first title in the franchise developed by studio Sledgehammer Games. They join Infinity Ward and Treyarch to maintain the franchise's yearly release schedule, only now with each game's development time extended from two years to three years. The evidence that Activision has made the right decision here is readily apparent.

Compared to Modern Warfare and World at War, or even Ghosts for that matter, Advanced Warfare is a huge step in a different direction for the Call of Duty franchise. With the addition of futuristic exoskeletons, players will be able to overpower their characters in certain ways -- whether that be double jumps, fast sprinting, cloaking or other gameplay modifiers. While the gunplay itself, the core experience in the franchise, remains largely unchanged, Sledgehammer is hoping their feature additions will evolve the experience enough for long-term fans to feel like Call of Duty is worth investing in every single year.

As always, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also feature a high-production single-player campaign. Kevin Spacey is starring in the role of story's main villain, playing the role of a CEO of a large and powerful mercenary corporation. It's hard to be angry at Kevin Spacey for very long though, so I'm sure everything will work out.
