Quoted from Aliens: Colonial Marines Reviews:
Check out these quotes from Aliens: Colonial Marines reviews & previews"Based on this new clip, Gearbox seems to be hitting the mark. It's asking a lot for a developer to try and match the tone and visual splendor of a Ridley Scott film, but this trailer comes close. It's clear that they're trying to communicate that -- much as with Prometheus -- they can create the same tension that film goers have come to expect on a smaller screen. The only concern that the trailer raises is that it may follow the Call of Duty campaign module a little too closely, with scripted scares and aliens popping out of closets bringing up memories of 2004's Doom 3. Of course, one of the films most iconic props, the motion detector, is still an amazing tool to keep players on edge and one that will surely be employed in the title, but if it behaves similarly to the flashlight back in id's 2004 shooter, fans may just end up getting annoyed with it. If no one can hear you scream in space, I'm sure Gearbox hopes that you'll be screaming a lot come February of next year, the target window for the title's release."
"Ultimately, the game will live and die by its devotion to its decades-old source material. Positioned in the tight timeframe between Aliens and Alien 3, Colonial Marines is set to unveil a few surprising xenomorph types and more detailed takes on the films’ set-pieces. Between videogames that have done Alien-style combat to death and modern films, such as Attack The Block, that have reimagined the terror of an alien invasion, Gearbox will need all the firepower it can muster to convince us that its space marines are, as Private First Class Hudson bragged so long ago, still the “ultimate badasses”. No doubt it will come out fighting on Sega’s heavyweight stand at E3 in June."
"SEGA and Gearbox Software present Aliens: Colonial Marines, a new addition to Aliens canon. Aliens fans may want to think twice before picking this one up, however."
