Background

Super Metroid was originally released on the Super Nintendo in 1994 and hit the Wii Virtual Console in 2007 (US) to coincide with the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Wii.

Game Play

Super Metroid is a side scrolling game. You play as Samus, who has once again been forced to put an end to Ridley and the Space Pirates. You run, jump, and shoot through six large and varying environments on the planet Zebes to retrieve the baby Metroid she found on SR388.
