THE GOOD:
This Game Rocked the only game to get a 5/5 so far.
Season Mode (At the time was the best and is better than JBI and SYM.)
56+ wrestlers
Entraces
Create a Pay Per View was a nice feature to see in the game.

THE BAD:
Reptivte Season mode it goes old after awhile but if you don't really care it goes on forever.
Takes like a mintue each time to load which is a big time facter. Could have been alittle better with the grapchis though.

SUMMARY:
Summary: This gamee has been out for awhile closing in on four years and I for one love it. I did a survey and more than a 1,000 people did it and 70% percent of people thought that Know your role was better than JBI and SYM. I say if you don't mind old wrestler and you have ten bucks to spend go out and buy this game it is one of those games that don't go old.

THE GOOD:
Even more Superstars
More moves, unlockable movesets
Still simple to play

THE BAD:
Only one finishing move per character

SUMMARY:
This game is the sequel to the SmackDown! Game for the PSX. It added “Know Your Role” to the title, which is one of The Rock’s catchphrases. This game added more Wrestlers from the WWF (as it was then) and more moves. The graphics have been enhanced, but the gameplay is still as simple as it was in the last game. The basic idea is the same as it was in the first game, to pin your opponent’s shoulders down for a count of three. What THQ have tried to do in this game is give more variety and more things to do.

For a start there are more Wrestlers in this game than there were in the last one. You still have all the more famous ones like The Undertaker and Kane, but now there are a lot of lower card Wrestlers like D’lo Brown. The Create-a-Wrestler mode has also been upgraded. There are more parts to choose from and more moves. There are some moves you can’t initially select. As you progress through the story mode you will fight “Unknown” characters. If you beat them you will unlock some extra parts for the CAW mode and an entire moveset. Certain moves will then become unlocked and you can tell which ones they are because the name of the move will be highlighted in yellow.

There are also new matches to choose from like Hell in a Cell, Table and Ladder matches but they still included the “I Quit” match which is highly frustrating because you usually have to knock them down multiple times before they give up and once usually does it for them. I personally never did this match that much unless I had to. The introduction of the Table and Ladder matches was a good move. They can provide entertaining matches. The only problem with them is that they can be completed very quickly. While the Table or Ladder matches on TV are scripted to have lots of exciting things happen, it’s very easy to knock your opponent down, jump outside and grab a ladder, set it up and get the belt. Later games fix this problem somewhat, but nevertheless they do provide good matches at times. You can still only have 4 people in the game at once due to the fact the PSX wouldn’t be able to handle any more on screen at once. But 4 is usually more than enough for enough action on screen.

The story mode tried to improve upon the one in the first game. You can still work your way up to the title, but randomly you will be greeted with a cut-scene of some description where an event will happen. This time you can only challenge for belts in story mode, you can’t do it in free mode for a quick title change. So now if you want to get a title you have to work for it in story mode. While this is good in a way for realism purposes, it does prevent lazyness and a cheap title victory. I didn’t like this because it was fun having a woman win the WWF title in a quick match. It’s one of those cases where realism goes a bit too far and it takes away from some of the fun of the game.

My favourite mode in this game is Time Limit Title in Hardcore mode. This is where someone has the Hardcore belt and you have to pin them, and only them, to get the title. Once you’ve got it you then need to survive and not be pinned or submit until the time is up. You can have 4 players in this mode. It’s fun because the match carries on until time is up no matter how many pins are made and because it’s a Hardcore match weapons and things can be used.

You can also create “stables” in this game. There are alliances between wrestlers. Some are already pre-set like the Dudleyz and the Hardy Boys. But you can break up these alliances and form your own in the options menu. You can even have ridiculous alliances between hated rivals if you so desire.

There was an amusing glitch in this game. If you rolled off the ramp into the area below, you would actually roll across and float in the air. When you went to climb back onto the ramp you did go up a level. By doing this repeatedly you can effectively climb up into the air. This is an excellent way to retain the Hardcore belt in Time Limit matches. If you go up too high you will crash the game though.

Overall this game was very well done. It was even better than the first one. It retained all the things that made the first game good, but improved the graphics, put in more characters, moves and matches. The only downside was that you could still only have one finishing move per character but some Wrestlers have 2 or even 3 moves that they use to finish opponents off. Apart from that this game was probably the best Wrestling game on console gaming at that time.

THE GOOD:
Season mode (at the time was unbelievable), Extensive Create A Wrestler Mode. A massive 56 Wrestlers I believe. A proper Titantron for everybody.
Also Title defending in Enhibition, great multiplayer plus!

THE BAD:
Loading for every single thing, which has been removed circa Smackdown JBI and Smackdown SYM. cutscenes tended to get repititive.

SUMMARY:
SUMMARY:
It's been almost 3 years since Know Your Role Hit the shelves and I for one still enjoy it throughly. The fact is, it just neve gets old no matter how many times you play it. it's replay value is unsurpassed in the field of Wrestling Games, eye for eye this game had no errors in its time and Is one of the ONLY games to recive a full 5.0 from me. It's perfection in every way. Do yourself a favor and get it. It's only 20 bucks anyway, tons better than JBI belive it or not...

THE GOOD:
loads of character that is about and over 60.
loads of unofficial patches available on the internet to keep the roster up to date.
outstanding graphics, the wrestlers are like their real life counterparts.
the stink face (move) is in the game so is the worm, last ride, etc.
huge amounts of parts to choose when making a caw.

THE BAD:
huge loading times in between matches, entrances and season mode.
still no commentry whereas inferior game like WCW:Backstage Assualt and Mayhem can give good commentry.

SUMMARY:
Though there are a huge amount of superstars, unofficial patches to keep the roster up to date, loads of moves like stink face, worm and last ride and huge amounts of body parts to choose from when making a caw, if there would have been lesser loading times in between the matches and especially in the season mode which will take your whole life to complete and if there was commentry then it would have been a perfect game but according to me i still believe that the game is perfect.

PSX  WWF Smack Down 2: Know your role. 2.5

THE GOOD:
Wrestlers - The game has good wrestlers which can do a variety of moves like they do in real life wrestling. That is a point which I really like the game. The game also provides the whole entrance music of the wrestler with his/her battle.

Season - The season mode is really intresting, you can choose a wrestler and get into many fights, and the best of all you can really unlock characters if you play the season mode long enough. More matches can be unlock by the season mode. And the monthly events can be a real nice touch for the game.

THE BAD:
Graphics - The graphics aernt that good of this game, Soemtimes the crowd could be real blurry which is a huge weak point in my view.

More features - There could be more features put in to this game, because when the game was realeased ( a long time back ) a lot of different kind of matches were being played, while this game doesnt have them.

Loading - It takes an incredibly long time to load!

SUMMARY:
Overall I think this game is ok. Not bad but not good either . Its bad points match up the good ones . I know this game was released ages ago, and probably a lot of people still dont play it, but its the latest game of wrestling for playstation One. You can get addicted to it for a lot of time but after a while it would really be boring playing the same thing over and over again, and all that loading can really be frustrating at times. If you're still addicted to Ps One then buy this game!

THE BAD:
Keep's on loading after every mach, a piss you off!

SUMMARY:
In this game you get to be a WWF superstar(Now WWE) You can get other stuff and players for the game, playing in season as any person that you can play for now...

As you keep playing a story will happen every month, that you have to show another wearser that you are the boss and beat them! But be careful who you choose, because they may not be in the racking, and you are going to put them their and if you don't... You might be playing only for like once a year...

If you keep beating everyone in your ranking you will finally get the cange to fight for the belt, and if you win you will be champ!
Good luck!!

THE GOOD:
Alomost every thing on this game rules the caw mode is brill the game play is brill grafix are fairly good to.

THE BAD:
The the graphics are better than smackdown 1 but could have been made better.

SUMMARY:
This game has got to be one of the best games on the playstation, it has everything a wwe fan could ask for in a game, plenty of wwe superstars to choose from, with a mix of male and female wrestlers, all with cracking quality entrance sound tracks. The main aims are to get the title and beat the season mode, you can also make you own ppv events.
This game has a brill storyline in the season mode, and the way in which the titles are set up rocks. In the season mode you can hear all your favourite superstars catchphrases and threats. The caw mode is easy to use and has great results. I think that this game is definatly one of the best wrestling games created for the playstation. As I said the only bad point is the graphics is the only thing that could have been slightly improved although, i think its great improvement on the graphics, but it could have been improved more, by defining the look of the created wrestlers ring attire. There are so many different match types, so this is a very exiting game for wrestling fans, non-wrestling fans may not think so, but then if they like fighting games, they may still like this one. There are so many different match types that it is not very easy to get bored with this game.

PSX  Raynor Review 4.1

Graphics: 5/10
They are at an OK distance but I now know that they can be improved. I thought they were great when i first bought the game but now there just junk.

Sound: 4/10
The commentary is pretty lame seeing as how theres very little. Cole will through a word or 2 out once in a while but thats it. The crowd is always yelling.

Charactors: 7/10
Most of the charactors in the game don't exist in the WWE anymore. There all retired or injured. You can create some of the newer wrestlers in the CAW section but not that many since you can make about 10-15.

Game Play: 4/10
Pretty lame seeing as how each 3 months repreat itself over and over making it ultra easy and mostly forseeable.

Overall: 5/10
With Smackdown 5 on its way out to be released I see no point on buying Smackdown 2. Buy Smackdown 4 at leats. That game is very fun and excellent in most feilds.
