Although old now, Time Crisis is, and always will be, a classic. It created an entirely new combat system for arcade shooters, and cost countless gamers hundreds of pounds.
The system of pressing the pedal to attack, and releasing it to hide and reload was simple, yet effective.
Varying setpieces gave the game an original quality: one moment you'd be shooting enemies from a broken bridge, the next you'd be attempting to take down an attack helicopter.
However, it had little niggling qualities. Like, how come pillars and bars protect you from explosives? And it really is no wonder the enemies don't really succeed, because they're terrible shots.
