I didn't know bout the first Suikoden, but I'm totally in love with Suikoden II when I first see the cover. It rocks all the way! The animation was smooth, beautiful, handsome, detailed, it almost felt like yer watching an anime instead of playing a game. The storyline was georgeous (why Jowy hafta be the last enemy?!!) alongside. The fighting scene was awesome. Don't forget those wicked background and theme songs. Difficulty level: HARD. Trust me, those 108 guys can't be gotten in a day or so, unless you play it 24 hours non-stop for two days without any sleep. And your castle? If ya don't search it often, ya might never find out when they move your room to the other floor. Get Suikoden II now, or you'll be sorry FOR SURE!! But of course, if ya play Suikoden first, ya'll get more advantage of it. After finish the number two, hit the Suikogaiden. You won't regret it! I know I never was and sure never will.

THE GOOD:
Everything...the story, characters, graphics, gameplay and the history from Suikoden I.

THE BAD:
There's nothing bad about it...though the graphics are a bit dated but it did improve.

SUMMARY:
STORY
Its about two young men who were bestfriends since childhood but they were caught in the middle of the war..when they were betrayed by their own country and now..they struggle on a journey of tragedy, sorrow and a test of friendship when they become leaders of the two rival countries.

MUSIC
The music is played by an orchestra..so when your going through the game..everything sounds so mystical...and you can even have your own musicians in your castle, they will be playing all the music tracks you hear through out the game.

GRAPHICS
The graphics are in 2D but they fit the game perfectly. The Characters look more detailed...like anime.

GAMEPLAY
The game has a unique rune system where characters can learn spells...

THE GOOD:
it continues the first games 108 character system in style and allows for even more character development by bringing in new ways to interact with the characters

THE BAD:
well the messy avatar s of the first are well and trully gone so i cant complain there but the game on the whole is way too short and too easy

SUMMARY:
Story: 4 this game does give you the impression you are friends with people (something that wasn't very obvious in the first) but at the same time lowers your credability as a leader. you are not a hero you are a companion and in this the game suffers slightly... but the extremes of suik 1 and 2 are what make it so much fun to play in a row. Graphics: 4.5 i liked the first games graphics and in viewing the intro to this game i was extremely relieved that they continued the style. as i said the messy avatars of the first are gone.. replacing them with crisp and prettier images. the in game graphics are more...

THE GOOD:
the 108 characters the intriquite war system various mini-games, a developed series of character with many references towaards suikoden and featuring tir and gremio, and of course he 3 different endings

THE BAD:
it is not as long as i wouldhave liked...

SUMMARY:
This is not just another game filled with warfare and violence. What it's really about is family, hope, and sorrow. It's about a little boy moving on after the death of his sister, when he could have hid his pain and moved on, or child moving on in times of struggles, when giving up was was still in sight. Or a little boy refusing to let vengemce overcome him, when revenge would be the easiest road.

But most of all its about courage. Courage because you fight on when the days grow no brighter. Courage because you risk all to save those you love. Perhaps thats it. Perhaps its about a little boy remembering the precious memories of his sister, remembering...

THE GOOD:
Shitload of charachters!
Cool battle system with Unites and stuff
Map battles are fun to! (though they are a bit pre-determined in the begin of the game)
Whole lot of Minigames!
Music kicks ass.

THE BAD:
It comes to an end once..

SUMMARY:
Suikoden was a good game, but the sequel really is the best game ver made!

Story- 5/5

Story is about two childhood friends who have to battle against eachother cause that's their Destiny. That's the main Story, but it has many sub-plots and once you get deeper in the game you can't get out of it! Your other objective is to recruit 108 Stars of Destniy who will help you battle. Out of the 108 stars you can recruit, you can use about 70 in battle!

Music- 5/5

Wow! Absolutly great music! From the chillout Lakewest music to the Map Battle music, all are very good. This is the best soundtrack ever made.

Graphics- 5/5

THE GOOD:
The game play, story, characters, graphics, and history towards it...

THE BAD:
I dont really see anything bad about this game, only that it is not really popular...

SUMMARY:
This game is one of my favorite rpgs, it has one of the most wonderful storys to go inside of it, people don't really see that now adays, they care about graphics and gameplay, which I don't see why they don't like this game, the graphics were pretty good, and the gameplay was awesome, I enjoyed every moment of playing this game, I htink I will start over again and play it through, again...:laughs: I just hopethis becomes one of Playstations Classic Hits, like the first one did....which I really think it should because it is a classic hit on my list , just the one thing that bothered me from the first one was the big battle, it was like a tactical thing now, not free lance tactics...

THE GOOD:
108 characters and you now get to use not just one but 3 runes!!! 4 secret characters can be gained! Better graphics than part one and a much much better story line. In addition, an old enemy comes back...Not to mention a better Castle for your Headquarters!

THE BAD:
Well the graphic did improve a bit, but that's all.

SUMMARY:
It's one of the Best RPGs ever, this game brings back the true meaning of what RPGs really are...
A even greater story line than (gasp) FF7...it clearly surpasses the thrill in FF7...
Anyway this is a MUST BUY GAME...
It's a ultimite story of two life long friends who go through Friendship, Betrayal,Death, Love, Loyalty, Honor, and Forgivness...

THE GOOD:
Almost Everything. The game excels where every game needs to, it's really fun to play. The 2D graphics fit perfectly for the series. You can choose up to 108 characters to fill a 6 person party, leaving customization newarly limitless, not to mention the unite attacks. A great battle system along with an intruiging plot will keep you playing for months. The mini-games are another place that the game excels. There are tons of them to be found, and they will leace you coming back for more. The castle system is also great. You will find yourself constantly returning to see what each new character has added. The game also has a killer soundtrack to boot.

THE BAD:
Not much. The graphics are a little dated, especially with spell effects. Some of the characters you recruit are a little lame, but nothing too bad. Overland travel can be somewhat boring, but the "let go" option speeds up battle considerably. Other than that, there are no...

SUMMARY:
Story:
You are Riou, adopted son of the famed warrior Genkaku. Genkaku fought for the City-States of Jowston in their several wars against the Highland Empire. Genkaku bore one of the True Runes: the Bright Shield Rune. His rival, and best friend, Han Cunningham was the famous general of the Highland Empire, and it was through their friendship that the war was eventually resolved.

However, Genkaku was shamed, and thus left the City-State and decided to live within the Highland Empire. 30 years later, Genkaku has just passed, and his adopted son, Riou is a soldier in the Unicorn Youth Brigade unit of the Highland army, fighting with his best friend Jowy Atreides. The Highland Empire and the City State's rivalry still very much exists, however, the two have just signed a peace treaty.

Due to his war-mongering nature, Prince Luca Blight of Highland, also General of the White Wolf Guard -...

THE GOOD:
Just like the first the battle system is interesting and innovative, the graphics aren't the best I've seen but this is more than amde up for by the game play. The story line is well done and woven through it are characters and themes from the first game which will please fans of the original

THE BAD:
The battles can be frustrating at time as can the random battles in most rpgs

SUMMARY:
I throughly enjoyed this game, the battle system was well thought out and I liked the mix of full army battles, party battles and one on one battles, which made it very original something lacking in many rpgs dare I say it even the ff series.
The game itself though can be said not to eb very originala s it is extremly similar to the first game but for me this si an advantage as the first game was alsovery well done. This is I have to say one of my favourite rpgs ever.
