Suikoden

THE GOOD:
Perhaps the most well written, compelling story (with the possible exception of Xenogears) of any PSX RPG. Great sound effects, beautiful water colour character headshots, and the BEST soundtrack of any video game....EVER. If this sounds like hyperbole, you haven't played the game yet. Now I love Nobuo Uematsu and the many others Squaresoft have employed, but, this is above and beyond.

THE BAD:
A little short by today's standards, fuzzy, stiff overhead graphics, but a true RPG fan can forgive old school graphics can't we?

SUMMARY:
Personally, I feel it's such a same to see Konami drive this series into the ground, as Suikoden II was also excellent, but the character art was a little cartoony for my liking as opposed to the medieval water colour designs of the first. Then 3 and 4 on the PS2 were ungodly terrible. Considering my 3 favorite games are FFII (IV), Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu II) and...

THE GOOD:

Well when put in comparison with suikoden 2s graphics they look quite poor

SUMMARY:
Story: 4 a very in depth story that has many clever war scenes and character development is very good.However it can tend to feel like everyone is your servent rather then your friend... although i guess this is true. Graphics: 4 some people put them down these days but i found the graphics of suik1 to be of a very high calibur even by todays standards.this being said however they can tend to look a bit plain and the avatars are a bit messy. Music: 4 i really like any music which uses an orchestra so i loved this soundtrack... to the point i have downloaded many of the songs!! if you are into techno and computer made sound effects in your music it aint here. the sfx of doing different actions in menus and etc does...

THE GOOD:
the use of 108 chacters in a war, the war system, and the moving plot

THE BAD:
too few wars

SUMMARY:
This is not just another game filled violence. What its really about is courage, heart, and hfaith. It's about a boy continuing his strife for the betterment of others, when he could have worried for himself alone, or a boy defying his father to follow his heart, when he could have abnegated his emotions to please his father. Or a child moving on during times of strife, when all hope was lost.

But most of all its about sorrow. Sorrow because you sacrifice all to save the one you love. Sorrow because your beloved friend risks his life to save you. Perhaps thats it. Perhaps its about a little boy sorrowing for the death of his friend, sorrowing for the death of his loyal servant, sorrowing for th death of a father whom he had fought to death.

THE GOOD:
Game Play, Story line, battles, characters system, runes

THE BAD:
nothing really, annoying enemys...I guess

SUMMARY:
This is another classic that really no one picked up one...sad...but anyway this game I have played to this day ever since it came out, I love this game, my fav part of it all is the Tactic Batle sence, where you control the little guys and watch them duke it out..fun fun...the story was really great and collecting all 108 characters was awesome as well, to bad they ruined the suikoden name with the 3rd instlment of the game...Runes in this game had good attacks, Unites were good, but they had little of them...and castle was alot better than the 2nd ones and the 3rd ones...the world map was good and all but I didnt like the fact of repeated battles, I fought alot even if I did run away I would be toppled with another battle on me hands..:laughs:

THE GOOD:
It has a great story line, not to mention the 108 stars of destiney that you recruit! Simple Battle system that makes your life easier. THe different runes with different abilities make your life much much easier. Best of all there are 3 types of battles you face, Regular battles, Dual(One on One), and All out full army wars.

THE BAD:
Well the graphics arn't really good, I mean PS2 wasn't even mentioned yet. But hey, the graphics aren't everything.

SUMMARY:
It's great game with tons of characters to use. Its a story of life and death, Freedom, and Liberation aganst an evil Empire....Truly a remarkable game, and very hard to find now a days, but if you do happen to stumble upon this game at some underground secret factory somewhere, BUT IT, who cares how much it cost! And if you do have the game, here's a little challage, can you recruit all 108 characters? If you cna you will be greatly rewarded,...

THE GOOD:
The hero is gd looking and the graphics are like 4/5 and the rune of the hero Soul Eater is so cool!

THE BAD:
ITS HARD 2 GET 108 characters u need it 2 see the best ending!I now got only 100!

If u like games like lets see ah! Tales Of Destiny and you'll like it if u like Chrono Chross BUT the THE Chrono Trgger style It's a great game a MUST!! HAVE! Suikoden was one of the first really great RPGs for the PlayStation. Suikoden tells a brilliantly crafted tale of friendship, deceit and adventure, with a generous helping of humor and plenty of genuinely poignant moments.

Story: You play the role of a young man named McDohl. McDohl is the son of the famous Teo Mcdohl, the general of Scarlet Moon Empire. However, after witnessing the wrong doings of Scarlet Moon Empire. The young hero joins the Liberation Army and becomes the head leader. The young hero must rebuild his own castle and stand against the Empire once he served and worked for.

Battle System: There are 3 types of battles. The standard battle, army vs. army, and one-on-one battles. The feel of going against one-on-one or going against army vs. army is really intense and amazing. Suikoden is THE only RPG that came up with the idea of army vs. army and one-on-one at the same time. This is one of the few features that distinguishes this game from other...

THE GOOD:
Great story, lots of characters, fun fighting system, and lots of fun sidequests.

THE BAD:
The character interactions with the story are not that great because of the use of so many charaters.

SUMMARY:
I love this game a lot. It offers a great gamng experience. The story is great and it offers so much with all the characters. I loved the sidequests which kept my interest in the game even more. This game is a must buy.

THE GOOD:
This is the only game in which you can clock over and over and still enjoy. I've clocked it 4 times and at arround 80 hours each time thats alot of entertainmet.

THE BAD:
This game has an end, and not much of one, although there is Suikoden II

SUMMARY:
This game is the benchmark of all rpg games, all other games can only be compared to this one.
