SUMMARY:
As far as I can tell this game is one of my favorites on the PlayStation One. This is my 3rd favorite Resident Evil game in the series, and I can tell you why.

The graphics in this game looked realistic when it first came out in 1996. The graphics are out dated and it's still looking great on the PlayStation. When I first played this back in 2002, I thought the game looked bad on the back cover of the game, but when I played this I was wrong the graphics were good.

The sounds were great and it's still great now. The Voice acting was the problem of this game, I was laughing through out the whole game. But this game is still great. The zombie sounds was kind of scary and the bite sounds was terrible. The only best sound in the game is the Menu when you hear "RESIDENT EVIL!"....

THE GOOD:
Somehow this game manage to take all it's bad sides to the good sides making the only reason to play it again for humour. You can't take it seriously knowing what Resident Evil has evolved into now.

Consider this so terribly excellent it's identical to Snakes on a Plane in terms of entertainment, but this is a game...

THE BAD:
The voice acting, you only after to hear the first line to know that the VA is going to be terrible all the way out, especially when Barry randomly says "WOAH... THIS HALL IS DANGEROUS!"

The zombies also move like god knows what, and it's amazingly easy to get past them.

The movement is also quite bad, especially when you open your storage box and your character's stuck in mid air.

SUMMARY:
When we were all psx owners, young and naive we believed this game was the best yet looking back on it, it's really quite terrible. It's so bad it's good in-fact.

Great graphics, but it needs some improvement with the backgrounds and the cut-scenes with the tyrant and the helicopter part. The characters looks good also the enemies too.

Great sounds, especially the enemies, characters, and using the items like the keys and the status screen. But the worst part I hate is the voice-acting.

Story 5/5
Nice story and I really enjoy how it started out in the beginning about the T-Virus reanimated the body to come back to life like zombies, dog zombies, and other creatures as well.

Controls 5/5
It's easy to control the characters if you get use to it, but for beginners it might be hard to get use to it.

Storyline 10/10

This game has a great story-line. Bravo Team helicopter discover a mansion. The engine of the helicopter brust. The helicopter crashed over the mountains. Alpha Team discover Bravo Team helicopter. But, no one wasn't in the helicopter. Also they been chased by monsters like dogs, and entered the mansion. But, the horror was just the begin.

Sound 10/10

The sounds are good except the zombies sounds, and maybe you people think the characters voices are not that good because, the way how it sounds bad. But, i think it's pretty good.

Graphics 10/10

Excellent 3D colorful graphics of all time of 1996. It makes it scarier than the old playstation horror games.

Unique storyline and some good puzzles along with good camera and graphics at the time, scary.

Some of the worst dialogue yu will ever hear in a videogame, slow combat and a slow moving game, and a overall difficult experience

SUMMARY:
If you look up survival horror in a dictionary you will see Resident Evil as its definition. Resident Evil is what truly started a genre that has grown since its release. But how good is it? This game has one of the most unique storylines ever. a team of special agents called S.T.A.R.S. has its Bravo team investigate bizzare murders in the woods of racoon city. Victims have been eaten. Some say cannibals. Some say animals. But noone knows for sure. After Bravo's helicopter crashes and loses contact with the S.T.A.R.S. departament yo are sent with the other members of Alpha team to check it out. Yu find the copter crashed but dont know why. you have no time to figure out wat happens as you are...

THE GOOD:
Genuinely creepy atmosphere, some tough puzzles, tough bosses, decent graphics, very good in-game music

THE BAD:
Ridiculous voice-acting, tough camera angles at times

SUMMARY:
This is probably one of the creepiest games I've ever played and the first title I ever owned for my Playstation. From the first time those two Cerberuses scared the hell out of me when they jumped through the windows early in the game I knew I was in for something good. The whole time the game has you on your toes as you play through a very creepy environment with music that makes your situation that much more tense. You never know what is going to happen every time you turn a corner or open a door. And that's what made this game so great and spawned so many sequels.

Probably the most noticeable negative aspect about this game is the horrendous voice-acting. Jill sounds like a clueless blonde, Wesker sounds like a confused school teacher and Barry...

THE GOOD:
Great story line, the graphics are outdated now but looked great at the time

THE BAD:
Very old now, controls were tricky to start with.

SUMMARY:
This was the game that started the wonderful series that is resident evil. This is something not to play on your own on a dark night as if your like me (a wuss:P) you'll be too scared to play after a while.

I don't reccomend you go buy this game thought what I do reccomend is you get yourself a Gamecube and go buy the remake.

It one of the greatest games i seen

This was the first game I ever played on the PlayStation and after being used to the Alone in the dark series I was surprised how a game could take the best bits out of the Alone in the dark series and added suspense to the mix. Some might call it a rip off but others call it a classic . . . read on if you are wondering if you should buy it!

Story (10/10):

A series of gory attacks in the area surrounding a remote biotech lab brings in S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Squad) to investigate. On arrival, Bravo Team communications are abruptly cut off. Now it's up to your team.

You arrive at the isolated mansion under-powered and on the run.

I give the story full marks as it is the original story which has evolved so much now that its a bit confusing, this is the only storyline where everything is straightforward.
