BackgroundWhen Maya Amano, reporter for a teen magazine, is sent to investigate recent murders at a local high school she gets a lot more than a story. Spread rumors in the city to find out how the murders might be linked to a ritual called the "Joker's Curse". With the help of her friends Maya will battle and even recruit demons to uncover the truth of the dark world of Persona.
Gameplay"Eternal Punishment" belongs to Megami Tensei (Megaten) universe, and like in all Megaten games, it allows you to communicate with the random enemies. You can choose a party member to talk to the demons you encounter, flatter them, threaten them, make them give you Tarot cards that will allow you to summon more powerful Personae, or make contract with them in order to get information or rare items. You can also spread rumors around the city and see how they influence its life.
Putting the "contact" feature aside, the rest of the game plays as a standard japanese RPG, with an overview of your sprite based characters who will move troughout dungeons gaining experience and money from fights.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a different game then the import Persona 2: Innocent Sin.
