NBA live 2001 is a step in the right direction | 4.2 0 comments |

THE GOOD: -Streetball!THE BAD: -Graphics showed no change SUMMARY: NBA live 2001 is a great game and took a revolutionary step in its own evolution by adding the Streetball one on one feature and by coaxiny his Airness to get off his high horse and be in the game. NBA live took the greatest leap and most change of any other NBA Live game except for the very first one and is worth the 10-15 bucks it would cost to buy this game now so give it a try if you don't like it, its not like you spent 50 bucks on it so no big deal. |

Cool game ! ( For basketball of course ) This game is awesome. Although I don't know much about basketball, this game teaches me how ! I like the Live Challenge idea. It was so cool. It's fun completing the challenges. And after that, we get to buy very cool rewards. The graphics effects, abilities boost and many more. You can be invicible, giant, tiny, 2D player ...... And the move are so cool ! I'm talking about the slam dunk. Heh. If you watch it, you'll see what I mean. They like flying. How can people do that ? Uhh, I forgot. This is a game. I've nothing say much anymore. Just play the game, you'll see.
Overall, this game rocks, cool, awesome and many more. Emm, but I don't know about NBA 2002. Maybe it much cooler, much rocker, much awesome. But I don't know for sure, since I haven't played it yet. But if you want to start playing basketball games, start with this. |

THE GOOD: This games gameplay lives up to and and excells as in its predecessors. The overall game is very good but with a few minor glitches. The music is annoying at first but you get used to it. Graphics are very good if you compare it to last year's edition. I don't think it any other game on the market for PSX even compares the NBA Live 2001, the only thing you could do is upgrade to a PS2 but it isn't necessary, I like the PSX version better. The gameplay is better for PSX anyway. But most of all the best thing about this game is the post moves, it is the first game to have post moves so realistic and so many.THE BAD: I felt this game got rushed into stores, the designers should have taken their time to get everything perfect. First of all the created players face's are blurred during game play which is a huge dissapointment. The options are very annoying as it's like a maze if you want to get somewhere and you don't know how. The previous version was better. Also they need to improve the realism of the game. I don't think that the ball can go right through a person in real life as it does in the game. NBA Live 2001 should have a slam dunk contest as it is one of the public's favorite events of the all-star game. Also the pre-game introductions and stuff could be a whole lot better if more effort was put in. Some of the faces are quite realistic but Kevin Garnett, the cover player, looks chinese and his face is lopsided. SUMMARY: Overall it is a great game as long as you do not care about little things like the faces being perfect. I feel the most important aspect is gameplay and that is why this game received such high points. The moves are incredibly realistic right from the backdown spin moves to the crossover dribble jumper from behind the arc. While the graphics are less than outstanding they are still as good as the years before it. |

THE GOOD: - Greatly, improved artificial intelligence - Introduction of the Challenge mode (more replayability) - Crowd, color commentary and music play key role in the experience - Computer generated trades and deep player creation modeTHE BAD: Are you kidding?!?! There's NONE! SUMMARY: This is probably the best in the Live series! With an improved AI and good replayability, NBA Live 2001 will be the king of console b-ball! |
