This is the game that created great gameplay, Its got a huge array of weapons and enemies, great characters and cut scenes, the weapons are in no way shabby, they are true magical/medieval weapons, like the crossbow, sword, magic lightning, Its got about 21 levels, and each one of them as good as the next, They have great GREAT landscapes, and In every level there is a shadow of creepy, oddly shaped houses surrounding the level, and instead of the level's lanscapes carrying on past the fence that surrounds a level, there is just a sea of blackness, that looks like you could fall right into it, all the levels range from caves, farms, graveyards, churchs, and they all have a VERY gothic feel, and the music is plainly fabulous, its gothic, creepy and really aids to all the levels, and the famous hall of heroes FULL of the forgotten heroes of gallowmere. This game almost brings me to tears, it is fabulous, go on eBay NOW and get it for your PS1 or PS2, You cannot die and not have played...

THE GOOD:
The graphics, are mildly good, but during boss fights they can seem much better. The weapons you choose from, and use are all cool and interesting. the characters are...creative...and of course the plot is twisted and goofy enough that it just might work! Well...maybe for some people.

THE BAD:
I'm no fan of the horror genre, let alone when it becomes semi-goofy, and just plain scary. this game gives me a very lonely sense (sort of like Ico, but not as a bad) and at the same time I feel like I'm at a twisted haunted house, or some horrible evil circus of death...well, maybe it's just me...The fighting isn't terribly hard if you're good at these RPG/Hack 'n Slash games, but for the casual gamer it might get hard in the boss fights. the story, IMO was too weird, and random, sort of like Beetlejuice too.

SUMMARY:
Bottom line, it's just too creepy, and not as much fun as you'd hope. Despite some good parts to it, the genre, and attitude...

THE GOOD:
Comical game full of atmosphere, easy in some parts yet pleasingly challenging in others. Good weapon choice.

THE BAD:
Control of Dan is sometimes a bit 'sticky' causing near-death experiences!

SUMMARY:
I never get bored of this game as I find it very enjoyable to play. The levels can be manageable then suddenly very tricky (Enchanted Forest & Asylum Grounds). The background graphics are detailed enough to give atmosphere, as is the sound. It's good how there are lots of things to find before you can progress anywhere as it extends gameplay time - it isn't all over in the blink of an eye like some games can be!

THE GOOD:
Extremely great storyline and levels, awesome weapons.

THE BAD:
absolutely nothing.

SUMMARY:
Sir Daniel Fortesque is the next great hero of playstation. I say they make at least 2-3 more MediEvil games to really enhance and set the story in stone. I am a die-hard MediEvil fan. I play it ritualistically even though I beat at least 10 times, never get tired of it.
