Resident Evil and Silent Hill were great games... pretty much to the point where outright trying the mimic them would seem foolish. So other survival horror games got their own little things to stick out. Fear Effect had a cel shaded look, Clock Tower played like a point and click game, and Galerians... has you using psychic powers? Hmm, you know what, this seems like a rather interesting idea! Does it work? Absolutely! A few flaws here and there, but that doesn't stop this game from being good.
Also unlike most survival horrors, Galerians is story driven, which is a good thing, because there's quite a story to be told.
