THE GOOD:
There's some fun to be had in this game, but not much, since it's a grim begining to the story, and alot of serious work to be done without any comic relief. But if there's one thing i like about this game it's the classic story, which is a good, stylish plot that fits the bill well.

THE BAD:
Unfortunatly the fighting in this game really isn't any fun, since it's difficult to keep your characters healthy, since find and then affording to buy healing items is very hard, and there's alot of fighting in the game, almost all of which is impossible to avoid. boss fights are hard, and aggrivating, and weak characters leave you feeling angry and depressed at the same time. (or maybe it's just me) And to top it all off, the terrible graphics make me feel like I'm playing a giant Gameboy game.

SUMMARY:
In total the only reason I have this game is because it comes with Chrono Trigger. i'm sorry I bothered playing it.

THE GOOD:
The story, the gameplay, the characters, the enemies, the weapons... hell! Almost everything!

THE BAD:
The graphics aren't what they could've been.
The renaming method is annoying.
The fact that Squaresoft took so long to release the full version of FFIV instead of the cut-down Easytype version that was released as FFII.

SUMMARY:
If you are new to the Final Fantasy empire... skip this game. It's definetly not a game to endear newcommers. Try VII instead, it's got the best story, and is a bit kinder to newcommers. Once you have mastered that, come and take a look at this.

That's not to say this game is harder. Just different. Handling three characters in one fight can get a bit frantic, so imagine handling five at a time, without time bars.

This game is my third favourite out of all final fantasy games, it's story is very well done and throws up several suprises, especially when you learn more about...

THE GOOD:
Great graphics, awesome storyline and plot, great characters

THE BAD:
Everything that wasn't on that list

SUMMARY:
This game is pretty cool, but it could have been even better, it had awesome graphics, neat storyline and plot, and cool characters, but everything other than that was pretty dull. The other Final Fantasy games were better though, so get Final Fantasy 7 or 10 instead of this one, unless you're a real Final Fantasy fanatic.

THE GOOD:
Storyline, Characters, Character Development, Battle System, Musical Score, Replay Value.

THE BAD:
Graphics, the graphics for this game are primitive for the Super Famicom/SNES platform as this was an early debut title for that system. These graphics remain unchanged in the Playstation ports of the game, however a graphical update was given to the WonderSwan Color version of the game. The PlayStation versions of this game are quick in play but very slow when saving progress to a memory card. The overall speed of the PSx versions is fractional compared to the smoothness of the cartridge versions.

SUMMARY:
Perhaps Square's greatest traditional fantasy RPG. My title sums it up, in my opinion. Final Fantasy IV is one of the more traditional fantasy games in all of the 10 FF games thus far. What distiguishes it is the story. It has a deep and complex storyline that keeps the player hooked to his controller. Perhaps due to the great...

THE GOOD:
this game

THE BAD:
nothing

SUMMARY:
This game is definatly in my top 5 games. It has a lot of good game qualities, such as getting vehicles which many games do not have. Although the PSX version is the "hard" one i still like it. Another thing is having 5 charecters in your party at a time, which is cool, most games don't. The additions onto the PSX version such as the FMVs and special abilities seem to make it more appealing for those who just played the SNES version.

Alright, this game is one that is greatly overlooked by most people. I think only because that it came out when it did. In the age of "new" games, this Super Nintendo throwback was given merely a passing glance. The people who did give it a chance then found themselves with a startling fact, despite looking simplistic, this game was hard. I'm not saying super hard, but it will give you a challenge, I gaurantee it. The only other people who played it were those familiar with the original release of this game as Final Fantasy II. II was the copy of the Japanese "Easytype" of IV. While being basically the same game, alot of enemies, items, and abilities were removed from it. They all find a return in the American rerelease of IV.
This game boasts a very good storyline, good graphics, for being a Super Nintendo game (My favorite system for RPGs), music composed by the master Nobuo Uematsu, and a challenge. I think that it should be seriously checked out by everyone who considers...
