THE GOOD:
Longer levels
Greatly improved save system
More exciting bosses
More variety in levels

THE BAD:
Fewer levels than the original
Challenge isn't there

SUMMARY:
This game is worth buying, especially if you enjoyed the original title.

Storyline: 9/10

The storyline is improved in contrast to the original.

After cast onto the island, Dr. Cortex discovers hidden crystals, which he can use against the world. But without anymore qualifying henchmen to retrieve the crystals on the islands, he seeks to use his arch enemy: Crash Bandicoot!

In my opinion, this storyline is much more solid than the original.

Gameplay: 8/10

The gameplay, though interesting, just isn't as challenging. The original, even with its horrible save system, still had much more challenging gameplay throughout. This one has more feasible obstacles, which make the game fly by, even with...

Crash Bandicoot 2 is definetly one of the best platformers you'll find on the PSX. Everything that was messed up in the original Crash Bandicoot (Especically the horrid save system) has been fixed to make a new and totally improved platformer with plenty of different flavors throughout. I can see why it has that "Greatest Hits" label on the side of the case! (=

For those who didn't know, Crash Bandicoot, the original, was made in 1996 by Naughty Dog. It revolved a mutated bandicoot marching across a linear path, it was a very tough game and the save system was the worst one ever. Most people hated the game for this. The difficulty was stone hard on the players and the horrid save system crushed some of the fun in the game. The sequel fixes every possible problem wrong with the prequel, you name it, it got fixed. Difficulty, animation, and the save system, and more spices have also been added to make a wildly fun expierience!

THE GOOD:
3D levels
New attacks
A good challenge
Music
Replay Value
Better graphics than the first game
Everything else

THE BAD:
Nothing

SUMMARY:
Crash Bandicoot 2 continues from the first game. Cortex falls out of the sky. Crash thinks Cortex is gone for good. Unfortunetly, Crash's problems are just beginning. Cortex lands in a place with lots of crystals. He takes one to his lab to examine it. Cortex realizes that it will destroy the earth. The only way to prevent this is if Crash finds all 25 slave crystals. Crash must gather all of them-but, not without a few boss challenges. Some old favorites are back such as Ripper Roo. Dr. N. Brio says that he's going to try to destroy Cortex. To do that, Crash must obtain all 42 gems. Who should you trust: The mad scientist (Brio) or the even more mad scientist (Cortex)?

THE GOOD:
3D world adventure. Lots of unique levels. Lots of stuff to accomplish.

THE BAD:
nothing

SUMMARY:
This game was a great game. I have to admit, some parts were damn tough. I loved how there were so many unique levels and it seems your in a different part of the world.

Sony had thought of the first Crash Bandicoot game and it sold pretty good. All the Crash fans were thinking if Sony would make a second Crash Bandicoot game and soon enough they did. But what was the story line going to be like this time? I myself had no clue I had a few ideas but I never thought that Crash's enemy would need his help. Is his enemy trying to trick Crash or is he really honest that he is not tricking him. Well Crash's girlfriend doesn't seem to trust this guy and trys to make Crash stop helping. Is Cortex still as evil as he was or is he being kind of like a friend to Crash. You do not know until you beat this game!

Crash#2 is full of more action. Go sliding on ice, surf on a motored surf board, hitch up a ride on a little tiny bear and beat bosses. Good music, longer levels. In my opinion if I were you I would buy this game. It is short but really fun.

Crash Bandicoot 2 is the sequel to the extreamly popular platformer for Sony designed by Naughty Dog with the intention to get a peice of the the platform market from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog and Nintendo's Mario. Right as Crash 2 was about to come out, it had appeared that Sony might have been successful in carrying out their plan. But as time passed, as well as a couple shoddy games that used Crash as their main selling point was made, the Bandicoot family name had lost much of their respect in the market, even though they still have managed to produce multiple good games. Crash Bandicoot 2 has stood up and become, what is likely to be consittered the most mediocre game of the series.

In the first Crash Bandicoot game, Crash went form island to island playing a series of worlds in each one of the islands. However, like most of the sequels, the whole setup has changed around. Now you are based in one room and have multiple warp zones that you have to go through to get...
