Well first off Kanomi has shown that 2D beats practically most 3D games. Although the graphics are only 2D they still look better than those 3D graphics on most games. The 2D graphics are really pleasant to the eye and the rotating Clock Tower in the middle of the Castle Keep is extremely sweet! Well on to the review.

Graphics: 10/10
I simply love the graphics in this game. 3D graphics often are in blocks and most games these days use 3D, but 3D games don't nowhere near has the control like 2D. FMV in this game isn't really significant, but there is some FMV but about 4 minutes total worth of FMV in the entire game. But to me graphics really have little effect on the game itself, but the PSX can't really handle 2D real well, and sometimes you'll see slowdown when a Life Max materializes after each boss fight or when your in the Reverse Caverns room with a whole bunch of Octapus.

Music: 15/10
Definately derserved a higher than max score. The most significant...

THE GOOD:
Except for what I said below this game is brilliant in every way.Oh and the best part.....NO WHIP!

THE BAD:
Simple story and TERRIBLE,TERRRRIBLE voice acting.

SUMMARY:
If you had ever played a Castlevania game before and like the whip and would never want to replace it,then buy this game, ask a friend to beat it and input RICHTER as your name.In this game it literally throws away its classic "go to a stage beat boss move on"to a similar play to CV2 where you move freely. In this adventure you take up the role of Alucard from CV3.If you dont know who he is,he is the son of Dracula(Alucard is Dracula backwards.)In this game you recieve an arsenal of swords, shields, armor and spells instead of that old whip. Now I aint saying I didnt like the whip,I just wanted something new.In the game Alucard can go up levels after defeating an enemy and earning expeirience points. There are also relics that can be found to enhance the power of our friend...

THE GOOD:
Everything about this is game is good, gameplay, story line, graphics, the lead chacter, the castle..whats not to like about this game?

THE BAD:
nothing..nothing at all...:laughs:

SUMMARY:
This is the best Castlevania I have ever laid my eyes upon, the castle was amazingly large, plus you had to go through another castle to actually beat the game, I liked how it swayed away from uing the lame old whip, and you could get little creatures to help you out in battle, the 2-D made it a perfect game, the story was sorta simple but was good enogh for me, the game play was outstanding, I love to battle in 2-D, one on one with the enemy even if there are more than one in your path to the next room, Alucard was the best lead character of them all throughout the CV series....

THE GOOD:
ITS THE SECOND BEST GAME IVE PLAYED
B/C XENA IS THE FIRST

THE BAD:
There is nothing absolutely wrong execpt for really cool glitches!!!!

SUMMARY:
The reason this is one of the best is because the side scrolling is awesome the weapons are great and there are many...many secrets for you to find.

You can even find familiars which help you a great deal!!!

I could hardly beat it the first time so I had to play it over and over and every time I played it new things happened plus there are 4 endings rare for a game!!!!

THE GOOD:
I doubt there is enough space to list it all.

THE BAD:
Once you get used to it and empower Alucard, it can be a little easy for an experienced gamer.

SUMMARY:
Let one fact about this game be known...you NEED it. Castlevania SONT, along with Super Metroid, is the greatest video game I have ever played. Add the addictiveness and replay value of an RPG, and the action of a fighting game, and this is the game you're presented with. It doesn't follow suit with the other Castlevania games, but all is well, as great a series as it had been, this game blows it completely out of the Merman-infested water. You'll have to gain experience and increase your levels, as in most classic RPG games, if you have any hope of escaping Dracula's deathtrap that is Castlevania. However, you aren't just another vampire hunter this time around, or even one of the heralded Belmont's. You control Alucard, Dracula's own misbegotten son. From an abandoned mine,...
