Breath of Fire III begins with a strange young dragon, who is found in a mine. Panicing, the dragon makes its way to the exit; unfortunately, it is caught, and caged. While being transported, the dragon manages to rock its cage to such an extent that it pulls itself off the vehicle being used to transport it.

Shortly after this, Rei, an orphaned boy who lives in the woods, finds a young boy, with no memory (or clothes) lying unconscious near a cage. This is your main character, Ryu, and this is where Breath of Fire III really begins.

Rei, Ryu, and another lost orphan, Teepo, live happily in the forest, until, after drawing unwanted attention to themselves, they are attacked and separated. Ryu begins to search for his lost friends, and soon discovers many things that change the objective of his quest.

It soon becomes apparent that, unlike in earlier Breath of Fire games, the Dragon Tribes - both Light and Dark - no longer exist. A large part of the...

When I first got this game, I loved the first 5 or so hours. The nice rounded graphics looked great and the battles were pretty cool. Well, pretty soon the plot started to unfold and thats what started to drag this game down. Not that the plot is bad, but as RPG fans know, an average plot can make a great game only good.

Graphics: 10/10

I really love these graphics, and so do alot of other people I know. The magic looked great, with no grains at all. The graphics while walking around are kinda like Wild Arms 2, except bigger characters and smaller houses. The graphics during the battles are the same as in game.

Sound: 8/10

Music is pretty good, with the my only comlaint being that it sounds like deparment store music at times. Other than that, most of the music fits the game pretty well. The game has cool sound effects and I love the way they say some little line in japanese before every attack
and spell.

Story: 5/10

The story...

This game is very awesome, I would really recommend this game to anybody who has actually played the previous Breath of Fire games before, because if you haven't, I don't think you will get the point of this game, but if you have had experience with these kind of games before, then I guarentee that you will love these, almost everything is good about this game, so I suggest that you buy this game, it's worth the money.

THE GOOD:
- Great story
- Good battle system
- good music
- Not short
- The master system

THE BAD:
- Bad graphics
- A bit to easy

SUMMARY:
Breath of fire 3 was one of my first rpgs i had andit is one of my favorites with its great story, battle, music and one of the only rpg series to have dragons.

The story of bof3 is about Ryu, a dragon boy who must fight the evil goddess Myria who killed his race years ago, Ryu is now one of the only brood (dragon) left in the world. Ryu is in humon form but can change into a dragon when he wants, for the first part of the story Ryu doesn't know that he is a dragon until a event where he gets separated from his freinds Rei and Teepo by Balio and Sunder, Ryu then meets Nina who helps Ryu in his quest to find Rei and Teepo. The story of bof3 is set in two parts, one half is of Ryu when he is a child and the 2nd half is of Ryu when he is a adult which really gets you into...

THE GOOD:
The graphics were good at the time but look out dated now not surprisinly, I liked the battle system and the story line was very enjoyable too and helped keep me hooked even when the battles became a little annoying.

THE BAD:
Did get a little tedious at times especailly when you get stuck and keep getting into random battles but that happens in quite a few rpgs

SUMMARY:
I found this a quite enjoyable rpg, it had a nice battle system and even though it did annoy me a little at times wanting to see the next part of the story kept me goin. A definite must for any rpg fan and to me the best in the series.

THE GOOD:
The gameplay and the plot are absolutely brilliant, as well as the variety of characters and the huge world.

THE BAD:
The graphics are not very moderised and looks very retro compared to other PSX games released in that time.

SUMMARY:
Overall, it is a great title to add to your Playstation collection and makes a good rival to other RPG contenders such as the Final Fantasy series etc.

Many gamers will enjoy the Japanese style fantasy worlds, which puts you in the shoes of Ryu, a young boy of who is the lone survivor a Dragon Clan called the Brood. At the start of the game, he meets two orphans in the woods named Rei and Teepo and befriends them.

Little do they know that their destinies will be entwined for eternity...Either for good or for evil.

You must help Ryu find out his destiny and even choose it in the end....

I love this game and I recommend it to EVERY rpg fan- what more can I say?...

Let's start with the characters. Unlike most RPGs, which have the hero as a moral righteousness from start to finish, Breath of Fire III has Ryu more unsure of his destiny. I felt Ryu's uncertainty through the characters around him and through his choices (which is pretty impressive since he does not speak). By not having Ryu speak, the trials of Ryu fall directly on the player. Other characters, such as Rei, are very well written and unique and contrast well with other straight characters such as Nina (self-motivated vs. duty bound and selfless). This creates a nice mix in your characters. Granted, some characters could have been developed stronger, but overall, the group holds up. One of the best features of this game is the in-camp dialogue. Much like Final Fantasy 3 and 7, the character can converse with other characters and discover things such as clues to the next location or input on the characters feelings. However, unlike Final Fantasy 3 and 7, where you have to find an...

THE GOOD:
Dragons, dragons, lots and lots of dragons and more dragons

THE BAD:
Graphics are very very very(cccchhhheeeeaaaapppp)

SUMMARY:
This game is easily one of the top 10 RPGs in the world. The graphics on the other hand are what can only be discribed as "they stink faintle of cabbage" but the storyline is one that would challenge the great FFVII. This game is also armed to the teeth with dragons.
