Baseball games seem to get worse as they age. There are many reasons for this, one being the roster changes and another being every year new options and gameplay settings come out making a game much more fun than the previous years version. All Star Baseball 97 seems to be one of those games. The player designs are quite sloppy and all around unactractive to look at. The stadiums are well done, especially for the time frame that this game was made in. The controls do need a little bit of a tweaking by todays standards, but there are no real problems. One thing that gets annoying real quick is the lack of many different sayings by the announcers, you can almost predict what they are going to say next. For a baseball fan All Star Baseball 97 is a fun game, but it is not worth trying out due all of the updated games out on the market. If you can find the game for a cheap price and you are a fan of baseball, then you might want to get this game. There is nothing special about it, just an old game.
