THE GOOD:
In my opinion, it's the best game for the Playstation One!
I can play it over and over again!

THE BAD:
If the disk is quite scratched then the background music will sometimes stop playing.

SUMMARY:
One of the most well known games for the Playstation One is Spyro the Dragon, which was released on September 10th 1998 in the USA, and in the UK, November 11th 1998. Many people will know of this game as it was very popular. This game would have been worth good money.

Spyro the Dragon is a 3D adventure/platform game, because you have to explore many worlds, jumping from platform to platform, defeating enemies and collecting treasure.

It is only a one player video game. I like the fact that it is a one player game because if there was a two player mode, there wouldn't be any other player to control, as Spyro is the only main character.

Graphics are pretty good for when it was released. A flame attack looks like it is made from orange streaks with arrow shaped tips. It spreads out when fired, and leaves a small cloud of smoke behind for a few seconds. These types of effects were stunning in its early days.

The sound in Spyro the Dragon is quite good. Background music will play while Spyro explores the levels. Most levels have their own music theme. Spyro the Dragon also has great sound effects, like little dings and jingles when you pick up Gems, and cries that the bad guys make when you kill them. One bad thing is that if the disk is quite scratched, the background music will sometimes stop playing.

The characters seen in Spyro the Dragon are Spyro, Sparks who is your dragonfly, all the Dragons you rescue, Toasty, Doctor Shemp, Blowhard, Metalhead, Jacques, Gnasty Gnork.

You play as Spyro, who is the youngest dragon in the Dragon Realms. He has to try and free all the other dragons that have been frozen by the evil Gnasty Gnork. On his adventure, Spyro has to proceed through six worlds, each containing several levels and a secret level. In all home worlds and levels, Spyro has to collect all the treasure, free all the dragons and collect all the dragon eggs. If this is done, you will reach 100%. Then you can access the ultimate secret level, which has thousands of treasure within. When it's all collected, the game's percentage will reach a grand total of 120%.

Each world contains about 5 levels inside, plus a bonus level. The worlds are Artisans, Peace Keepers, Magic Crafters, Beast Makers, Dream Weavers, and finally Gnasty's World.

In my opinion, Spyro the Dragon is the most fun to play video game for the Playstation One. Although I find it very easy, each time I complete it the fun is never taken away, and I can play it over and over again!

THE GOOD:
Cheap
Great graphics
Catchy tunes
Fun levels
Long if you try to beat the game COMPLETLEY

THE BAD:
Levels are not very detailed
Some areas are really short and some are at least long enough

SUMMARY:
Spyro The Dragon

It was a day in the Artisans world, home of dragons, young and old. The dragons were being interviewed, the dragons were insulting Gnasty Gnorc, Gnasty heard every word and was really angry. He cursed a spell on all the dragons, turning them to ice crystals. Spyro, a young purple dragon, was not cursed upon the spell. Spyro decided he would have to free all the dragons and defeat Gnasty Gnorc!

The game play is very well for this game. There are five worlds, Artisans,Peace Keepers,Magic Crafters,Beast Makers,Dream Weavers , and Gnasty's world. In order to advance, players will need to control Spyro and go through portals into levels to free dragons, collect dragon eggs and to collect treasure. There are many levels in each world and each world and portal is unique. And to advance to the next world, you will have to do something for the ballonist in order to get a ride on a hot air ballon. (Saving dragons, getting treasure etc..) There are also a wide range of enemies. Some are big and small and some even have metal armor on! Also, you must get ALL dragons ALL eggs and ALL treasure to get a funnier ending of the game. You might think this is a short game, but it's not if your gonna snag everything in the game and open up the secret gate in the last world!

The sounds are pretty well for a game that's 8 years old. There isn't too much besides the enemy noises and when Spyro's hurt. Some of the noises the enemies make are funny sometimes! There are many sounds in the game like Spyro spitting fire from his noise and the ting noise when Spyro has collected a gem! The music can be really good and catchy. The Peace Keeper music is very catchy and especially in this one portal!

The graphics are superb for 1998. Yep, there's no odd graphics at all. Spyro and the rest of the group are very good. The backgrounds of the game are not very detailed. But that can't destroy the fun of this great platform adventurer!

Spyro is a real treat for those who want something like Crash and Pac Man World. Overall it should be really cheap now days and it's a great game.

THE GOOD:
A good challenge
Great music
Funny
Amazing bosses
Replay value
Fun
Everything else

THE BAD:
Nothing

SUMMARY:
This game is great! It is about Gnasty Gnorc, an evil villan finding 2 spells: One to encase dragons in crystal, and one to turn some of the dragon's 12,000 jewels into Gnorc warriors. One day, Gnasty uses both of the spells on all 5 Dragon realms and an industrial world that Gnasty renamed, "Gnasty's World". He also sent some theives to steal the dragon eggs. Now, Spyro, (the only dragon that was playing Hooky and avoided being crystalized) will have to travel through 6 worlds (including Gnasty's World) to free the dragons, get back the treasure, retrieve the dragon eggs, and kick Gnasty's green butt! Can he do it or will he end up like all of the other dragons?

THE GOOD:
it's addictive. this game is really fun, without all the jibber-jabber, if you know what i mean. not that i don't like like jibber-jabber in games. the best thing is the music, and the spectacular backgrounds. but seriously, I've heard some great music in videogames, but this is in a whole other league. if music were measured in raindrops, like, more raindrops means better music, this game would have oceans.

THE BAD:
N/A

SUMMARY:
the game starts out as spyro the dragon and his faithful complanion sparx, the dragonfly, living a good life in the dragon realm, with acres of shiny grass and tasty sheep. then, one day, a dragon news reporter was interviewing another dragon about an evil Gnorc called Gnasty Gnorc(the norc's are like orcs or ogres, but with frog noses). the dragon was saying not nice, but truthful thing about Gnasty. then the Gnorc himself heard the comments and used magic blast to turn all the dragons into stone! but the young sprro was able to dodge the blasts, and he was not turned into stone. so he freed all the dragons and the area, but then noticed that all the rest of the dragons had been scattered throughout the cosmos! so spyro uncovered portals to hidden realms with fantasic castles. the only problem was that these realms had been taken over ny Gnasty's hencemen, who were in various forms. gnasty could create his minions by turning jewels into them. so if spyro flamed the minions, he could get jewels. and that's a good thing.

anyway, this is the first spyro game. it is one of those 100 level games, that keep getting harder and harder, so don't expect to finish it on the first in day, or year. it actually get's SO hard, you might want to quit... BUT DON'T! you only have to get all jewels and treasure and countless bad guys and unbeatable bosses...... okay, maybe not unbeatable. anyway, this agme left a good impression in my mind. one of my favorite games ever. i recommnend for everyone. i took off a tenth of a point because it is so hard so hard to beat.

THE GOOD:
Great graphics, nice sounding music, some nice tough challenges, and the characters actually speak

THE BAD:
It can get very frustrating, as Spyro gets hurt when he touches water in this game.

SUMMARY:
Ah, the sweet smell of a new adventure...Spyro's adventure started in THIS game

Gnasty Gnorc is one mean beast with attitude. One day, he is insulted by a dragon, so he gains his revenge by stealing all the dragon's treasure, all their Dragon eggs, and he also turns all the dragons except for Spyro into statues. And so, little Spyro sets out to free all his dragon friends from their crystal-like state.

There are so many levels in this game, its crazy!! It also takes a nice long time to beat, as you dont win till you free EVERY dragon, find EVERY treasure, and get EVERY dragon egg back. Then you gotta go to the bonus worlds, and get everything there!!

Spyro has got almost everything from desert castles
to, err...pools of acid prunes? ; well, thats what I think they look like...anyway, a must-have for an adrenaline-junkie yehaaaaa!

THE GOOD:
So many Enemys
Lots of Dragons to release
Planty of worlds to go to
Okay Graphics

THE BAD:
If you go into water you die

SUMMARY:
This game is one of the best I have played. You have to get so many dragons to go to the next world. If you hold Square you can charge. The blue guy who stole the eggs are pretty easy to get though. Some of the puzzles you have to solve are very hard but it is a good game.

THE BAD:
The Length of this game is to short, needs more levels and better graphics.

SUMMARY:
The story line for this game was pretty good, but the game wasn't long enough. This game needed extended playing time, and more levels to make an improvement I would also improve the graphics. Even though this was an okay game, there are many improvements that are needed but then again this was one of the first PSX games out.

THE GOOD:
Um.......fun?

THE BAD:
Nun' bad........

SUMMARY:
One of the best games I've played on PSOne. Great graphics and sound. Movement is nice and fluid. The game is so fun! Wonderful game worthy of its sequels.

No negatives, but let me warn you, the game CAN be hard. 'Specially that Lofty Castle SuperCharge Jump.... Oh, um....*clears throat* well anyways, great game, and at a good price too. But, if you don't like running around and collecting things, don't buy this one.
