As good as PSX racers get and then some...This game should be called TOCA3, it builds on all of the best qualities of Codies earlier titles and works hard to overcome their few weaknesses. The gameplay is excellent, with the AI being the most challenging I've seen on any platform. The drivers (usually 12) are actually racing you and each other (not just driving on the racing line)- they have tustles of their own, make mistakes and some will bear grudges if you behave badly, while others will give you a wide berth. The championship mode is a nice touch, you get a feel of the potential for racing games to tell a story of a drivers career, as well as offering the action of the race. Car handling treads the fine line between sim and arcade, with each car having its own 'feel'. The tracks look great (all real), espescially with the different weather and time of day settings.
