What They Say:

"With PlayStation Portable owners so badly neglected in the nearly two years that the system has been out, I have to say it is about time someone steps up to the plate. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops has its flaws: a lack of impressive cut-scenes, subtitles, poor camera and controls at times and the limitations of the PSP's hardware in level size. For all that fell short, Konami went beyond what one thought possible in terms of the PSP's graphical capability. They did a relatively good job recreating the Metal Gear game mechanics while including new ideas into the mix."

"Just what the PSP needed, this latest Metal Gear delivers on all fronts with an excellent story, a deep campaign, and a complete set of multiplayer features."
"The last time a true Metal Gear title was made on a handheld platform was 2000's non-canonized Ghost Babel for the Game Boy Color – a great example of how classic Metal Gear can be handled on a simple platform and probably one of the best Game Boy games ever made. With its solid controls and adequate handheld rendition of the classic Metal Gear formula, Portable Ops could probably have been a pretty decent, enjoyable game next to Ghost Babel, but what Kojima Productions has done has taken the game in a new direction that lets players enjoy Metal Gear in a totally new way. Kinda brings new meaning to the words 'Tactical Espionage Action.'"

"It's been a long time coming, but this is what Metal Gear Solid fans, and indeed PSP fans have been waiting for: a title that demonstrates what the technology of the PSP can actually do, with a solid action title to boot. The GPS and WiFi scanning feature is excellently implemented, the online and single player modes are deep, and there are plenty of things to do by tracking down and recruiting new soldiers from various places. This is one of the games to add to your collection if you have the PSP."
