Welcome to the world of the LocoRoco. LocoRoco are bouncy, round little creatures and that is not what you control in this game. No, you get to control something much larger. You can control the world of LocoRoco. You decide whether to tilt it left or right. Okay, yes you can make your LocoRoco jump, but other than that, the LocoRoco responds to what you do with the world. Throughout the game you can control one of many LocoRoco, the classic being the yellow one.

The graphics aren't anything special, but very pleasing to the eye. You just see solid colours of things. Simple, yet it works in this game. In this game you don't fight things very often. Yes, sometimes you get to send an enemy flying by hitting it with your body, but mainly, you have to work your way through worlds, collecting items and fruits to grow. If you don't, you might not be able to get through certain passageways that allow you to collect more items. You will be working your way through about 50 unique levels with about 6 styles that include Icey worlds and more. Every world is different and has secret passageways for you to collect things.

You use L and R to tilt the world and hit hold buttons to make your LocoRoco jump. You can also separate however many LocoRoco's you've acquired (By collecting fruits, you grow one LocoRoco) to fit into small spaces, etc. Some enemies may eat you and some may poke you and every time it pokes you, you lose a LocoRoco for a matter of time and if you don't retrieve it in time, it dies and you're down one LocoRoco. In the end of each level, your goal is to collect 20 LocoRoco's, a certain amount of purple berry type things and visit a certain amount of little blue people, you give you prizes.

In the main menu, you also get to play mini-games to earn items to create your own world. Yup, you can create your own world. It's just a small world with not a lot of space, but you can customize it with items you've won and earned and play it. You can then erase it and make a new one. If you think you made a really cool one that you wish to replay over and over or show your friends, you can save it.

In conclusion, the game is a fun game that will last you some time. It will please you and make you smile at it's quirky gameplay, but it won't entertain you to the fullest. Even though every level is different, it all the same objective and it gets boring after while yet you'll continue to play it through the whole game since it can catch your addiction. I suggest this for gamers who like a little fun, but it's not for hardcore gamers. If you just want to roll around as a ball, collecting items, then try it out. The ice levels are especially fun since you're sliding all over the place. Even so, I think everyone should try this game out, since I didn't think I'd enjoy it, but I did, for a period of time and I'm more of a shooter kind of guy. There are many demos for you to test this game out, so try them! Yes, it looks like a kiddie game, but it requires a sharp eye, good control and just a little patience. It's an 'everyone' game, but only certain people will thoroughly enjoy it while other people, like myself, will play it, enjoy it a bit and then forget about it. So try the demos and roll on!
