"You're reading an E3 2009 preview, which we've broken into three sections to make it easy to sift through during this week of convention madness. Check out E3.1UP.COM for all (meaning words, screens, and videos) of our E3 2009 coverage. What's the game about? The LEGO games have always been a favorite of mine. I mean, what person doesn't appreciate the simple joy of knocking down building blocks, let alone romping through entire worlds with characters built to resemble some of our most beloved franchises (Star Wars, Batman, Indiana Jones, and soon Harry Potter). The games are bright, colorful, whimsical, easy to jump in to, and have tons of collectibles to keep you playing for hours. And co-op just ties it all together into one nifty package that you can share with anyone, your own age or younger/older. LEGO Indiana Jones 2 The Adventure Continues looks to be much the same type of game, albeit with a few new tricks up its sleeve. What's new for E3? The first LEGO Indy game covered the three classic Indiana movies, so as expected, this sequel takes on the recent The Legend of Crystal Skull movie. But, unexpectedly, the game will also include second takes on the original films, featuring new playable scenes (for instance, Short Round driving the car in Temple of Doom, which was a cut-scene in the first LEGO Indy game, will be a playable scene in LEGO Indy 2), and all new levels. Instead of having one main hub world (Barnett college in the first game), Indy 2 will have six hubs -- three for The Crystal Skull portions, and one per classic movie. Indy has a few new moves this time around too, like being able to lasso enemies with his whip and then lug them around on his shoulder."
