"An interesting time-shifting mechanic and fun-to-shoot weapons can't make up for the rest of TimeShift's run-of-the-mill first-person shooter gameplay."
"One of the more impressive aspects of the multiplayer match-ups is the level of customization that will be allowed for any time of game. We're not just talking about length and weapon types, we're also talking weapon damage, respawn protection, where weapons spawn, spawn and camp protection, spawn times, and more. Players can go in and create their own master set and save it for later use. It's pretty spectacular for players looking for completely different game experiences out of the same game even though we're sure to see some pretty crappy ones along with the good. TimeShift has definitely undergone some good changes though there's work to be done. Both the PC and 360 builds had some connectivity issues that need to be ironed out and the there's a bit of mouse lag in the PC version. These are problems that can definitely be addressed by the time the game is released however. We'll keep you updated with more info as we get it."
"A great deal of work was done to bring the look and feel of TimeShift up to date, though an equal amount of time should have been spent on the design and presentation. With games like Halo 3 and The Orange Box out and Call of Duty 4 and Unreal Tournament 3 on the way, those design shortcomings feel ever magnified in the face of such giants. That doesn't mean there isn't any fun to be had here and if you have a spare weekend in the midst of the intense gaming schedule this fall demands of hardcore gamers, then Timeshift wouldn't be a bad way to spend it."
