"With Ridge Racer 7, it's really a matter of the glass being half-empty or half-full. Pessimists will see more of the same, with minimal additions to the franchise being tacked on as a token gesture to the changing times. Optimists will see the best entry in the Ridge Racer series yet, with tons of racing to do both online and off and a game loaded with incentive to take one's skills online. While there's certainly room for a lot of new ideas in future iterations of the series, what's offered here definitely has merit. Does Ridge 7 usher in the next-generation of racing? No. Is it the best way to while away the hours, driving on the PS3? For the time being, yes."
