Background
Mao was reading a comic book. His room was filled with jars of specimens from past experiments. The pages told of a superhero that defeated an atrocious Overlord. Right then, Mao made a huge decision. "As of now... I shall become a hero!" The decision he made was a big deal, for he is the spawn of the Dean of the Nether Institute Evil Academy. Mao believes that to defeat the Overlord, he must become a hero.Raspberyl, the delinquent of the school, learns about Mao's plans and begins to worry. If Mao were to achieve the title of Hero, it would endanger her position as the school's "Number One Delinquent". She tries to talk Mao out of his plan. Witnessing their conversation, Almaz, a hero, misunderstands the situation and tries to save the day. Mao accepts Almaz's challenge and steals Almaz's hero title after defeating him.
With the title of Hero, Mao believes he is one step closer to defeating his father and achieving his goal of becoming Overlord. Will Mao be able to become a hero and defeat the Overlord? Or will Raspberyl convince him not to? What is going to happen to Almaz?
Gameplay
Disgaea 3 is a sequel to Disgaea, a hardcore, turn-based, strategy RPG popular on the PlayStation2 and PlayStation Portable. In Disgaea, character units have a limit to their movement and attack ranges, based on level and weapons equipped. There are other special game factors that let you take advantage of the 3D battle map, many of which are unique to Disgaea. One of the many new feature to Disgaea 3 is the addition of a Geo Block, which creates a 3 dimensional battle instead of the traditional 2D. Geo Block is a cube-shaped terrain-altering object. Players can use it to access and attack enemies where normally they cannot reach. Geo Panel is a group of stat-altering elemental properties that are placed upon certain parts of the battlefield. When there are one or more colored panels on the battle grid, it means an element can affect that area. The effect can boost or reduce your unit's stats. Item World is a special randomly-generated battle stage within each and every item you find. By defeating these special battle stages, you are able to strengthen your items.Features
- Story and endings evolve as you play the game
- Geo Blocks introduce a real 3D battle system to a SRPG
- Over 270 customizable characters
- Class world adds 40 battle stages per character or 10800 stages
- Only SRPG with infinite number of randomly generated battle maps
