The Ultimate Review | 3.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: This game is awesome. Yes, even though it is kind of short. It does get hard if your not a skilled duelist. I'd have to say Kaiba is the hardest person on the game. But over all, the game is a perfect score.SUMMARY: The game starts you out with 3 decks. Enter your name as Konami. You will get a good deck. Then you will have to duel Tea (If you sided with the Yorkists) or Weevil or Rex ( If you sided with Lancastrians). Next it gets harder. I'd recommend you get codes for Barrel Dragon, Change of Heart, and Mirror Wall. Or your probably a goner. At the end you will face Llyr. He is pretty hard if you face him with the crush terrain field. But when you beat the game. Keep dueling them and get even better cards, such as B. Skull Dragin. Good Luck! |

THE GOOD: 3D animation. The animation of the 3D look of the monsters. Some people reckogn it's not all-that, but think: This game features 853 of which there are 681 monsters. Each one requires it's own attack, sound, card, death scene and cheer scene. So this must've required a lotof patience.
Creativity. The changed effects and the usage of cards is very creative. They took out most of the original effects from the TCG and replaced them with effects which will suit the game and it's system.THE BAD: The new battle system. Unlike the card game, the new system has a 7 by 7 grid on which you have to move around and do all sorts of things. Hard to get used to.
False hopes. There is use of fusion and ritual cards in this game. Most people have a problem: Why can't you get that or this as a normal card?...
It's a ritual or a fusion. I have encountered that question many a time, and it gets annoying how some people can't understand that. Also, there are 5 cards in the entire game which no-one has attained without a cheating device, which may wreck your whole game or system and certain people are still searching for them. SUMMARY: Yes, the card effects are different, and yes, some cards don't have effects when they should and vice-versa. The reason for such changes was because of the new battle system. This system adopts a grid consisting of 49 squares. On that grid there is terrain, which may give a certain monster type an advantage and weaken the other. Some terrain types feature "Labyrinth", through which you won't be able to move, "Crush" which will destroy any monster with more than 1500 ATK if it steps on it. Some monsters are rumored to be able to by-pass this ailment and turn crush zones into power increase. And "Toon" terrain weakens all except toon monsters. Again, toons get increased by "Toon" terrain. |

THE GOOD: graphics, the dragonsTHE BAD: crappy reincarnation so i have to keep reloading SUMMARY: this game is cool. It is based on the 2 player duel that yugi and joey have against the labrinth brothers on the cartoon series. What really annoys me is when you get 2 of the same monster in the slots and you want a row of 3 and the last falls short of 1 (happens all the time when trying to get mint cards). I have made up a labrinth deck containing 3 sangas, 3 kazegins and 3 suijins, jirai gumo, 2 shadow ghouls, barrel rock, monster tamer and a 4th sanga for my deck leader.
I also have a dragon 1 too.
If you are looking for a game related to yu-gi-oh then this is 1 to buy. |

Yu-Gi-Oh's best challenge | 5.0 0 comments |
by Nekogal #3 from NY | Dec 11, 2004 |
THE GOOD: Awesome graphics, more cards, new effects for monsters, great musicTHE BAD: deletion of game if you finish one side, battles could take over an hour, some card codes are impossible to find SUMMARY: I started playing last week, and this is a great game if you're into a challenge. Although it can drag out a bit, which gets annoying, and if you're dueling Necromancer or Bakura, or Jasper, you can't afford to let that happen. Also, some card fusions that worked in Forbidden Memories no longer work in DotR, which confused me quite a bit. All in all though, this game can get addicting, but if you're not into spending at least 15 minutes in a duel, or you just don't have a lot of time for games, do not get this game.
Also, does anyone have the codes for Nekogal #1 and #2? I'd appreciate it (hence the impossible to find codes). |

| This game is really fun. Its set in the 15th or 17th centery were you are called from the future to help the red rose side of a war thats happing. When you arrive you get to choose to join forces with Simon(Who represents the res roses)or you can join Seto(Who represents the white roses) then you have to collect 8 of the oppisit sides rose cards, like if you were on Seto's side you would need to get 8 red rose cards. If you ever get the chance you should play this game |

THE GOOD: ~Cool 3D Graphics ~A lot of good cards ~Cool Story Line
THE BAD: ~Having to move the cards SUMMARY: This game is very good. Having the 3D Graphics made it really Awesome. The only problem that i really had with it was having to move around your cards as if it were a chess game or something. Like if you are stuck in a corner with enemies all around you, you cant play any card to protect yourself, so you automatically lose.
The Graphics were really awesome! 3D Duel monsters going at eachother, So cool. Having different fields too made it interesting, and every opponent had its own special field, like Pegasus having Toon World and Mako having the Sea. It was very fun to have and you also get up to 3 cards when you beat your opponent
I would deffinetly reccomend this game to anyone |

THE GOOD: Nice Graphics. Cool gameplay and monsters, the magic cards are nicely done on this game. cant wait till the next one.THE BAD: If only you could put your cards on there. Plus the whole no life points just destroy the master card is kinda dumb to me. SUMMARY: this game is cool and all but it would be beter if you could scan your cards and use them in the game[i wish] . The only problem with this game is you cant battle your friends, or at least i dont think. whatever. This game is fun with great graphics, but if you play 20, times you'll start to predict weevils, rex raptors , Mia's moves ect. Plus you don't get the best cards at first. Neither do you in real life most the time eather. This game is fun and worth buying, just don't exspect to have the same exspirience dueling a computor with a controller than laying the cards down in real life while facing a real duelist!
As Yami [yugi] would say " It's time to Duel!" |

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists of the Roses | 3.8 0 comments |
by martinwalker8 from NearPonte/Selby, Yorkshire, UK | May 11, 2004 |
THE GOOD: Different from the normal rules of Yu-Gi-Oh!, many cards to collect and use in battle, AI is fairTHE BAD: Can get repetitive, the graveyard slots can be a pain to most players, story mode can get boring SUMMARY: This is the new type of Yu-Gi-Oh!, the game is set in the 17th century, you are a rose duelist sent from the future to the 17th century world, you are given a chance to team up with either: The white roses (Seto Kaiba) or the red roses (Yami Yugi). Either way, you will face many rival card players and can be fun at times and different players have different strategies to defeat you. You will have to use terrains, magic and trap cards to support you while you attack with your monster cards. The game is more like a game of chess, your deck leader is the King and if he is surrounded in all corners or being hit too many times, you are defeated. The same goes for them, each Deck leader has a certain amount of LP (Life Points), 4000 normally. But that can be altered at the custom duel, up to 9999 LP, the custom duel is where you can challenge the most difficult person in the game, YOURSELF. |
