THE GOOD: -Character likenesses -Sound -Environment -Gromit's GreenhouseTHE BAD: -Repetitive gameplay -Long loading times SUMMARY: Wallace & Gromit - Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Personally, I thought this was an above average adventure game and I thought it was quite fun - at first. I am a 16 year-old who went out and bought the game because i loved the film (come on let's be honest, it was amazing) and i was actually very surprised at how good it was to begin with. I thought Konami (makers) done very well as, let's face it, not everybody is going to rush out and buy a copy quite like they would with Pro Evolution Soccer 5! But that's how it is.
Now let's get on with the good points. The character likenesses, in my opinion, is absolutely amazing. They sound the same and act the same as they would in the film. It's very impressive and can be quite entertaining. Like I briefly just said, the sound is very good. It's very clear to understand (if you can't hear what they say, you can read the subtitles!). The sound effects are very good and make it sound as if it was in the film. Environment. My initial thought is that this caught your eye. What i mean by this is that the area is quite impressive as there are loads of hidden switches, alley-ways and whatever else. It looks brilliant and is certainly big enough. And finally, Gromit's Greenhouse. This is a truly gifted feature to the game and adds a lot of humour to it. The aim is to make Gromit's marrow grow huge. You can decorate the house, use formulas on the marrow and even play music to it! But you need to collect enough coins in able to purchase these things which makes it worth while. So these are the good points.
So let's evaluate the bad points to the game (and there isn't a lot). This game will probably allow you an hour before you get bored. It can seriously be that repetitive! But it's not all bad because once you unlock a new area, it all seems worth while - before once again you become bored. The good thing is that when you're bored, there is honestly only a couple of tasks to complete! Quite smart thinking in ways. And finally, loading times. This is a real pain in the butt because it takes about 20-30 seconds. That doesn't seem too long but when playing, trust me, it does. And it actually makes it quite frustrating! But that's the only bad points to the game.
In conclusion, I think the game's reasonably good but it won't attract everyone to it. But this really deserves it's rating of 3.8 out of 5 and could of got more if it weren't so repetitive! And you try reasonably hard on completing tasks and all you get is a card! It's not simple but fairly easy to play and complete the tasks. Hope you enjoyed the review and found it useful! |
