True Crime: New York City

THE GOOD:
-Realistic Graphics.
-The best game on PS2 to picture New York city, in my opinion and expertize.
-Strong and effective sound effects, voice acts match the characters.
-Gangsta Cop life, bad and good cop system.
-Interactive environment, almost everything is destructible and usable.
-Ability to enter every shop and hotel in the city.
-BIG arsenal of weapons, and a lot of fighting arts.
-Music System.

THE BAD:
-Too many glitches that made this game unwanted.
-Storyline is not very interesting, missions are all repeating.
-Sound glitches
-Cars slides on the street like on ice, there is no strong physic engine for cars.
-Animations contain a lot of glitches.
-Some walls in Buildings aren't solid, and you may stuck in a closed ground.
-Your fellow police officers are stupid, there AI is pretty much low.

True Crime: New York City, how we wanted to love you, how we wanted you to be a great game everyone could enjoy, how you failed us. I really wanted this to be a good game. LA was a classic but this one, ain't worth shit. Seriously, if you ever come across this game just light it on fire and run like hell. I mean, this is the game you would buy someone for a practical joke. Anyway, why is True Crime NYC such a bad game? Well, first off, the game is nearly unplayable. There are so many glitches than humanely possible. It freezes at random moments. Which can be really annoying. Especialy if you are during the last boss fight of the whole game. And sometimes you know when it's going to happen. Like everytime I go into an office ot a shop it's a black out. The screen turns black...

First off, this game is way better then the last True Crime. There is many new features like changing your clothes, get new haircuts, every building is accessable, buying and modding cars, buy new music, more weapons also trains and taxis to get around.

You play a young African American gang banger-turned cop and solve street crimes that follows a fresh story. There are about 5 different crime familys;each one you work your way through. If your not into the story mode, theres always an option to free roam. Help take down crime in the city of Manhattan, and clean up neighborhoods...that means you can lower crime rates in different neighborhoods.

The weather system and time of day is realistic, it snows, rains, drizzles and thunder storms are just a few to name. The type of weather affects the way you drive. When it rains, sometimes it makes controlling vehicles harder. Rarely, ice will appear on the ground which makes it nearly impossable to drive on and fun to watch...

THE GOOD:
The graphics are decent, you don't have to do missions, you can free roam when ever you want, the street crimes are much cooler than before, now you can go inside buildings (there are over 100 interiors), so you aren't just on the streets all of the time. You can now buy different costumes for your character, as well as weapons, and you can buy food to replenish your health (a bit of a rip off from GTA) but still, this is a good game.

The cars now have a more weighty feeling to them unlike the cars in L.A, you can't fly down the street, and it feels as if your car is glued to the road. nice improvement. Oh yeah, the motor bike has been included this time round!

THE BAD:
Some of the missions are a little hard, the controls have been re-arranged, so players of L.A will find it a little hard to adjust to these controls. The cars are a bit crappy, (apart from the bikes) and there is too much...

For $50 this game is fairly overpriced. The game is good, it just has too many faults and it lacks several things.

But for off, I'll talk about it the (few) positive things.

The graphics of the game are fairly good, though surprisingly the best on the Playstation 2 version as the Gamecube and Xbox versions just lacked quality. However, even though the graphics were fairly good, again they lacked and it wasn't a very pretty game. The free-roam is the second good thing about the game, a representation of NYC as well as even having the choice to entering a large number of buildings and just about going anywhere,...

THE BAD:
Their are a few Bugs and Glitches but I have not encounterd too many.

SUMMARY:
Graphics-Great Graphics for a game looks quite releastic what add too the Cop and playing releastic it makes you feel like a real New York Cop.Much improved Graphics from the first one. Storyline-Quite a decent storyline that you were once gangster set out revenge after jail as your gang betrayed and kill the leaders and then your mentor gets killed in a conspiricy and you seek who did it and for revenge. Shooting-Much improved and you cannot now walk into a room with like 5 gunman you gotta use the wall etc..much improved than the last game aim without using zoom in and auto aim also much fun. Driving-Not as good as the last one but it still has some cons and ups still fun though once you get use too it what only takes a few missions. Side Missions-Great side missions from Building Bombs you gotta rush and difuse too Office and Outside...
