Time Crisis II

THE BAD:
Quirky multiplayer setup. Low difficulty level.

SUMMARY:
The first of the series to be released on PS2, Time Crisis 2 is a direct port of Namco's popular light-gun shooter. In the game, you play a VSSE agent charged with preventing the launch of a nuclear satellite disguised as a communications network.

The graphcis are solid and enhanced compared to the arcade original. The characters and environments are the same but backgrounds and character models have been cleaned up to greatly reduce the rough edges of the original polygon-based models. The frame rate stays very smooth with almost on unintentional slowdown. Sounds are about the same as in the arcades, although some of the character voices do sound a little different...

THE BAD:
Rather short and can be completed pretty quickly

SUMMARY:
I first played this game in an Arcade aboard a ferry 5 years ago with a friend and it was highly enjoyable. As far as the storyline goes it carries on from the first one with a couple of familiar faces returning for a second attempt to beat you. This game is obviously best played with a light gun and works with the old G-con45 you may have used in the first game. Make sure you calibrate it a best you can though or you'll find yourself missing everything.

The game consists of 3 big stages divided up into smaller ones with a time limit. Since the time from one small section caries onto the next it's best not to linger around in one area. When playing...

THE BAD:
- the graphics are dated
- if you dont have a guncon, dont get this
- too short
- a little easy
- just not the same when its not in the arcades

SUMMARY:


If your a total gun freak get this game i guess but i just dont likt these games as much when i play it at home, And if you dont have a guncon, just stay away, you will want your money back if you bought it. This game was great a few yrs ago, but now its old and it shows, the graphics are not cool(they are tolerable though). And this game is short! it will take you a maximum of 2 hours to beat it. And if your looking for a cool story, you should know by now that gun-shooting games dont have stories. Its a good rental though

SUMMARY:
Visuals: The same as the arcade, they look like dreamcast, they could be much improved.
the title screen looks good though...and the enmies are ok.

Audio: I didn't really get much of the audio, but it was fairly good in the arcade so I will have to judge it on that. y'know, typical arcadey style music.

Gameplay: Just belongs in the arcade, totally. You will want a big TV for splitscreen, and definitely get yourelf a light gun. But why buy it anyway? It sucks.

Longevity: Story mode is very easy to complete, so it won't last too long, and there is virtually nothing to unlock apart from infinite ammo, etc.

Don't buy this game people. single player and multiplayer sucks, so just go to the arcade where it actually rocks.

SUMMARY:
Time Crisis makes its debut on the PS2. This fantastic light gun shooter finally gets a console powerful enough to handle it. This game is quite simpilly great. The only down point is you can complete it in under 20 minutes. The graphics are fantastic much improved from the arcade version. If you see this game in the shops cheap, I highly reccomend it.

Time limit can get anoying if it keeps running out. A little too easy

SUMMARY:
Its a brilliant game. The graphics on the PSX2 version are alot better than the arcade version. The gameplay is the same though. A bit too easy but a fun game to play. I sometimes spend 10 quid on it. Thats all I can say really.
