THE GOOD:
New use anyone task idea. means that you don't need to do every challenge 14 times.
Special Objectives for each person so you need to use all people at least a bit.
Huge Levels and Huge amount of objectives.

THPS3 sucked compared to THPS2 and now THPS4 has come back with good levels, 3 only had skaters paradise that was good.

New talk to people for objectives idea and whole game in a cool free skate.
Old school AC/DC rock.

THE BAD:
Well, some music sucks, so you can turn it off, yay.

I guess some people would like to do 80 objectives 12 times with a different person.

SUMMARY:
Graphics: 7/10 This was a pretty early PS2 game and I didn't get it for a long time after it came out so i may be a little harsh, but non-the-less the graphics aren't the best. Only average.
PHYSICS: 10/10 Very important in a freestyle sport game. And Tony hawk has had the perfect physics from the start. Game enjoyable enough for seriously hard tricks which could never be done. Yet some what real feeling and not FLoaty and slow motion like Dave Mirra BMX 2
TRICKS: 10/10 The guys at Neversoft finally decided to add new tricks for the PS2 and they rule, Flip trick variations are one of my favorite things to do. The grind and the flip tricks actually make this a fun game to go street skating on.
SOUND/MUSIC: 8/10 The sound is real and at times funny, Selecting characters can lead to some funny remarks and if you crash tony you can get a great owwie-owwie-owwie. The music is mix of R&B and old school rock. Some system is thrown in there as a bonus and it all comes together well
GAMEPLAY 10/10: I don't know how they do it but it play's great. Its easy to hop onto a grind (unlike Mat Hoffman 2) while not having a float over to the rail as in Dave Mirra 2. The tricks can never get stale with the advantage of the revert. Making the biggest combos now other than spinning 900 while doing a christ air.
Levels: 8/10. Theres a good set of levels, so much better than in THPS3. With such a good street skating engine even skating in blanker levels, like San Fransisco. Actually the only really dull level is Chicago from MHPBMX2. Why did that game have such bad levels. Damn you Mat damn you. Sorry I got Side tracked.
CHARACTERS 9/10. Rune glifburg, Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Bam magera, The list goes on. They all have kick ass vids too. Can't get much better. Maybe if they could get Peirre Luc Ganon, Sandro Dias (melon 900) or Jake brown and the tailgrab 900 (I'm australian so i'm stickin up for my country)
Unlocks: 9/10 There a whole heap to unlock, and will take you a while for 100%. Pity there isn't much of a reward for doing everything. Maybe another MHPBMX2 level (The first one) could help.
Difficulty: 10/10 Theres stuff that can get you up to the end with ease and then stuff will make you cry. (Specific challenge of koston come to mind. There's even mind puzzle missions. Easy to end, challenging to complete. That's what I like.
Length:10/10 To make up for not doing a heap of challenges with different people the THPS team has gone out and made a big long list of stuff to do. Nice and long with out being repetitive.
OVERALL: 91/100 (4.55/5)
I finished this game, my sis wrote her file over mine. So i finished it again and holy crap My sis overwrites it again. I find it in me to reapeat for a 3rd time. And you guessed it my sis over wrote it again, (Thats another problem the save menu doesn't leave you on the file you saved on when You go to save you have to pick the file and a slip of the fingers and you have lost a file.) I decided to not finish it for a 4th time. But within a week I was hooked again. This time I overwrote my sis's shitty file and told her she finished it the last time she played, that they don't tell you when you unlock stuff. AND she belived it. Goodie I win.
Thats how much I like the game.
By the way i am a BMXer not a Skater and this is better than any BMX game. But skating games always are. Buy it now...

I SAID BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE GOOD:
~Customisable characters
~Multiplayer
~Addictive
~Customisable tracks

THE BAD:
~The music (most)
~Not much levels
~Same type of game to last ones though

SUMMARY:
Here is another (4th one, now that's a lot) just shows how much people loved the last ones on the PS2. I have never been a fan of the Tony Hawk's pro skater games but when I found out that you could customise your own park I so rented this game out, it turned out ok.

The customisable characters are really fun, becaue you can make so many different looking characters, this adds a lot to the replay value. Well you can have different hats, glasses, shirts, shorts, tattoos boards, etc. While you make your character you can customise his or her stats, to make them what you want them to be like.

The customisable tracks got my attention as you can of course create your own parks. There are mnay different half pipes, rails, pools etc for you to choose from but to be fun you should make your own lava park, so basiclly every where you go you are screwed. Ha ha ha, lol.

The annoying thing is most of the music, GRRRRRRRR, it's so annoying, unless your into a lot of annoying R&B rap songs, you might want to mute the T.V. It also gets frustrating with the Park maker and you stuff up heaps of times and your listening to that music.

There is many different tricks for you to do, along with the cheats, matrix mode and no gravity. They are pretty cool and you can pull of so many moves. The main campaign thing has lots for you to do, eg, the colledge, there are many people for you to talk to, so thereis plenty to do. This is addictive at first but then it might get a bit tiresome after a while.

The multiplayer is good, it's so much fun to send messages accross and then they get all cut up about it, the annoying thing is there is a lack of levels, also the levels look dull. The graphics are ok not great, but not bad.

I recommend to anyone who loves skateboarding games that do not have one already, though it is still wise to rent before you buy.

THE GOOD:
Classic THPS Fun
Huge Levels with lots to do
Awesome 2-Player Mode
Better Game Style
Pro Challenges

THE BAD:
The sheer number of challenges can wear you down after a while.

SUMMARY:
I have owned every THPS game that has been published, an THPS4 is no doubt the best version yet. I can only imagine what the future of THPS will be...

THE GOOD:
The atmosphere is nice, especially levels like College, it's bright and cheerful, which makes THPS4 a pleasure to skate through.

There are many tricks on show, which will delight many who have the intrest.

Of course, all of the best 14 skaters in the world are there, hence the title 'Pro Skater'.
Despite that, I found myself careeing through my own Created-Skater, which is also a Good Feature.
And, there are 3 hidden skaters you must earn with money, and then buy, with money.

THE BAD:
The levels aren't limited, but there could have been more, in my opinion.

And, there are a few glithes, but they are more of a 'Go out and find it', rather than a 'What the hell just happened?'

SUMMARY:
Bah, this is such a short review, basicially I figured if you like skating, then you should already have this. If you want more detail, PM me.

All in all, this as everything a non-skater and skater and non-skater-but-still-enjoys-the-sport, and I-can-skate-but-can't-be-bothered-to, could want.

THE GOOD:
This game is definatley the best sports game i have ever played. The pretty cool graphics and stunts is some of the Hawk's best. The tricks, which there is more than in the previous games are better and wilder.
Get this game if you're a Hawk fan.

THE BAD:
The game is fun but it is extremely difficult in some parts.Landing the tricks can be a challenge too.
The objectives are somewhat frustrating then the previous games.

SUMMARY:
The game is definatley one of the coolest if not one of the best sport games out there.
The cool soundtrack is also new,as well as the levels and tricks.
The 4th game in the series is not too bad.The best one so far, besides 2 that is.the controls and setup is the same and is on more systems then the original ones.(PS2,PS1,PSX,GCN,XBOX,PC.)
The games wipeouts are as well different. He'll land on his head, his knees, his back,etc...
The sound is perfect.Birds chirping, people talking.
And also there are other Skaters you can interact with, such as Steve Cabbelero,Jamie Thomas,etc...
which they give you other objectives.
This game,(I) give it a 4 oo 6.

THE GOOD:
Bigger levels, goals easier to achieve[one at a time without the run ending], Bigger Trick list, and nice graphics.

THE BAD:
Not much for a skating game.

SUMMARY:
Great skating game, lots of skaters to choose from, and the new and improved 'goal system'. Nice voice overs, and an awesome variety of goals too choose from. The graphics in the game are great, and the levels are great.

I would recommend this game to anyone that likes skating, or skating games to check it out, it is alot of fun[a lot better than THPS1 I've been playing for so long...].

THE GOOD:
- Bigger levels
- Mini-games
- No Time Limit for each level
- Lots of new tricks
- You can buy cheats
- Talk to people to get goals
- Better Graphics
- Flatground tricks
- You can grab on the back of cars

THE BAD:
- Gets boring after you beat it
- The build a skate park could have been better

SUMMARY:
THPS4 is the best skating game out there right now and its a fun game to beat it and to play the game against your friends. Big variety of tricks and combos. Lots of easy and cool goals in the game. You can also buy clothes for your skater and make him look better. There are mini games in the game which are also fun to play. The music is better than the last THPS game and the movies are better also. The build a park options could have been better. Also the game gets kind of borring onvce you beat it. The best part is when you get 100%.

Visuals: good visuals although they aren't the best that PS2 can do. They aren't bad either though, so you can't complain.
6/10

Audio: some great tracks by some well known grunger bands. Even though TH4 music isn't as good as number 3, the music is still good.
8/10

Gameplay: The gameplay is basically just skateboarding, collecting things like secret tapes and money, doing tricks, trying to break a target trick point score or doing missions like grinding on 3 cars etc.
8/10

Longevity: There is loads of stuff to do and loads of unlockable skaters (you nedd to cheat though) with loads of levels and some great multiplayer modes. it will take ages to complete.
8/10
