THE GOOD:AI (both opponent and environment), car physics (try a hairpin turn in the tow truck), and the ability to play chicken with expensive automobiles
THE BAD:
Occasional sound bugs (no engine noise 'til you crash), aliasing and polygon rendering sometimes sketchy, no jumping drawbridges
SUMMARY:
I have GT3, and have played it extensively. I'm of the school that the true longevity in a game lies in it's multiplayer paradigm. GT3, for all it's stunning graphics and amazing gameplay, falls short in 2 player mode. How many times can we run around Tahiti, neck and neck? How many times can I try to send him into a wall for... no effect?
Enter Burnout. It's not GT3 where graphics are concerned, though I was impressed with the actual rendering of the vehicles. When you crash, okay there's some glass, but they make your broken windshield balck like a cheap cartoon. And why didn't that lamppost go...
