SUMMARY:
I was sceptic first and I was debating if I should get this game at all. Even that I love Lara, Prince of Persia or sort of Jake & Dexter 1 kinda games. There are so many of this sort of games on the market and only a few of them are worth playing and spending money on. But it turned out to be a well made investigation. I was pleasently surprised when I started the game and after getting to play as the mummy I was sure. -This is a TOP GAME. Once started playing I wouldn't like to stop for hours.
The graphics are great and gives it a bit of a comic like style as I would compare it to Jake & Dexter, only cleaner and crisper and I haven't recogniced no clipping or any flaws at all. The textures are one of the best I have seen on the PS2 for quite some time.
The game music has got kind of Egyptian style as you would expect it to be for that period of time and culture. It underscores the action extremely well and doesn't get anoying since it's more like kept in the background but with the "I recogniced I've been whistling the tune for the longest" effect.
The sound FX fits perfectly and makes things sound the way as they would sound in real life -real!
The cutscenes are well done and now comes where the game looses 0,5 Points in the rating for me. -There is no voice acting in form of spoken dialogs at all. There are subtitle styled dialogs on the lower bottom of the screen. Well they're good but they do drag the gamers attention away from the actual cutscene which's a pitty since they're sort of realy nice to quite good.
As I mentioned it earlier, wait as you get to play as the mummy, she's so extremely funny and the voice of hers in form of hmms and umms, screams,...gets me grinning again & again.
The controls are easy to get used to and shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes if it does take that long at all.
The camera is for that sort of game typical, not always perfect but can be manually adjusted by using the right analog stick or the L2 & R2 buttons to center the camera. In generell the camera is programmed a 9,5 on a scale of 10.
The riddles are logic, not to hard and not to easy. Just right I would say. There are a lot things to do and items to be used like for example later in the game you get to catch all sorts of little creepy crawlers. Some of them blow up on contact or they blow up after a certain time and the player's got to make use of these abilities to his own advantage by dropping, placing remote controlling them.

If you liked Jake & Dexter, Prince of Persia or other games in this genre you will truely adore this game. It's got all a good game does need nowadays, fun, action, brain,... and it'll keep you going for some time until you get to see the credits!
