THE GOOD: Brilliant gameplay!!!!!!!!!!!! and superb ball graphics. many pitches and conditions. Loads of teams. Lots of tourniments make it a very long game which is really fun!
THE BAD: The graphics arnt what youcould call great, and the commentry is limited. You need to learn the controls well to play good!
SUMMARY: The gameplay in this game is sooooooo good!!! Rugby 2004 is really fun aswell! The graphics are not exsactly great.....the ball is though! Limited commentry is pretty annoying. I think they could have spent more time making the game for a better result. With many competitions you'll be playing this game loads. Multiplayer mode is fantastic! Rugby 2004 features many pitches, all with there own different conditions. If you're a rugby fan GET THIS GAME! because you wont care about the graphics!
SUMMARY: Quite possibly the worst game EA Sports has ever made. I would have expected a game like this to have been released prior to 1999 yet here it is, 2003, and this just came out. Imagine my displeasure when, as a Canadian, I went to play in the RWC as Canada yet, there was no Canadian team. Further, the game controls seemed very slow and unresponsive and the overall impression I got from the one time I played this is: why did I waste money on this? Terrible is the word which sums this game up best. In addition, in looking at other releases of 2004 games by EA Sports, I am disgusted that they chose to release this garbage for sale and sincerely hope they take the effort to completely rewrite this horrible game for next year. If you haven't bought it yet, don't buy it, if you have, try to sell it.
THE GOOD: Everything but the rugby: Catchy sound track, all the Super 12 and European teams + internationals, player trading, lots of new stadiums to play in...
THE BAD: Clunky graphics, very ordinary player dynamics, a step backwards on all the best features of Rugby 2001
SUMMARY: Rugby 2004 has finally arrived and one word describes my reaction: disappointment. 2004 aims high but falls a long way short. Graphics are very ordinary, with regular stop-start motion, and unrealistic player dynamics. Despite glaring deficiencies in AI in rugby 2001, its no better in 2004, with defences that can be outflanked every time by spinning the ball wide. AI with the ball in hand is little better and lacks variety.
2004 drops the best features of 2001: the double tap for skip pass is replaced with holding the button longer. The replay system in 2004 is nearly unusable. Camera positioning throughout the game is awful in many of the settings. One of the nice touches of 2001, dummy passing, is changed and...
SUMMARY: One word - pathetic! Do not get this game. Wait until NRL 2004 comes out! Please, I am begging you, this is a 100% waste of money. I seriously would not pay $5 for this product. More bugs than any other game I have played.
