SUMMARY:
Rugby 2004 has finally arrived and one word describes my reaction: disappointment. 2004 aims high but falls a long way short. Graphics are very ordinary, with regular stop-start motion, and unrealistic player dynamics. Despite glaring deficiencies in AI in rugby 2001, its no better in 2004, with defences that can be outflanked every time by spinning the ball wide. AI with the ball in hand is little better and lacks variety.
2004 drops the best features of 2001: the double tap for skip pass is replaced with holding the button longer. The replay system in 2004 is nearly unusable. Camera positioning throughout the game is awful...
