THE GOOD: the fact you can actually aim in this game is good unlike the very sucky resident evil where it's hard to aim properly this adds a challenging element to the game testing your aim witch makes it both harder and easier not to mention the graphics and story also kick ass and the enemy Morpheus he sucks! it just makes you want to kick his ass so bad when you fight him i dont got nothing against gay people but this guy is a little too obsessed with beauty for me not to mention he becames a women after aking the Tg Virus sorry if i offended any gay or transvetites
THE BAD: nothing at all in the least at all even a little bit i dont think its my favorite resident evil game actually SUMMARY: this games good it has everything a cute girl a good story and an ass kicking main character some people might not like the length but its a decent time and the graphics are good and not to mention its the first resident evil game where you actually save the world i might add |

Dead Aim or Dead Lame? | 5.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: Ahh, the good. The graphics aren't bad. They can't hold a candle to the GameCube Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 0, but they are pretty good none the less. The music also sets a good tone for the game. THE BAD: For RE veterans, the controller scheme is difficult to get used to, but it's manageable. Fans of Item Boxes and Ink Ribbons will be dissappointed, for they are gone in this installment. Oh, and the game is rather short. Most RE games take a minimum of 10 hours on my first time playing it. This one, even with the mental adjustments I had to make to play it, took me 2 hours and 9 minutes. Very short. SUMMARY: A breath of fresh, or maybe not so fresh, air. It depends on your outlook. First and foremost, it's a Resident Evil game. For RE lovers everywhere, this counts. But for non-RE geeks, this game isn't like other RE games. So there may be something for you in this game. It retains the Resident Evil air, while adding a "sloppy" Halo First Person tone. Very nice eh? Compared to most Resident Evil games, this one is is simply 'nice.' But on it's own, the game is great. I recommend it to Resident Evil fans, and non fans alike. Two thumbs (slightly bruised from playing the game however) way up. |

THE GOOD: + Good Graphics (Not stellar but good) + Excellent Sound (The music in the game fits the mood perfect, the sound effects do a great job, and the voice acting is decent, but mainly the music is what makes the sound excellent) + Gameplay (an excellent blend of light gun gameplay and Resident Evil gameplay) +/- Control (It'll take some getting used to but once you do you'll either love it or hate it, but whatever you do don't play it without a light gun, that's half the fun of Dead Aim)THE BAD: Well not too much, it all basically depends on what types of games you like. If you're a Light Gun fan then here's the bad: - Ammo's not Infinite (Even though you get tons of ammo, it's not infinite) - Not just Blasting (You have to do quite a bit more than just shooting)
Here's what is bad about the game for an RE fan: - Short Game (Only about 5 hours total) - No Sense of Horror (Massive amounts of blasting detract from the Horror feel) SUMMARY: Resident Evil has always been a staple in video games ever since its debut on the PlayStation back in 1997/1998. Then it made its shocking jump over to GameCube exclusively. Not too many PS1/2 RE fans were happy about that since they had bought a PS2 for RE. Now to give something back to the PS2ers, Capcom has released Resident Evil: Dead Aim, and soon Resident Evil: Outbreak.
This new Resident Evil isn't apart of the main series of RE games; it's a side-story of sorts apart of Capcom's not-too-stellar Gun Survivor series. It has the basics of a Gun Survivor game in there, but the difference here is that it's actually not a piece of crap, and the fact that you walk around in the 3rd person instead of 1st person. Then when you attack zombies your view switches to 1st Person and then you can blast away those undead creatures with your light gun (or dual shock 2 controller if your looking for a lesser game, or you unfortunately don't have a light gun).
This new RE combines elements of an arcade shooter (i.e. Time Crisis, House of the Dead, etc.) with Resident Evil, and it pulls it off quite nicely. If you're a light gun fan looking for something a little different then definitely check this game out, and if your a RE fan then definitely check this game out too. And chances are you'll probably like it enough to buy it.
The features Light Gun fans will probably like about the game are as follows: you get tons of ammo (compared to past RE games) and plenty of monsters and weapons for a blastin' good time. Plus the camera angle stays solid behind your main character the whole time (unlike past RE's), and you actually get to walk around on your own path picking up keys that go into simple to find doors, plus the game is about 10x longer than your standard light gun game, clocking in at about 5 hours. The features Light Gun fans probably won't like about the game are as follows: Even though you do get a lot of ammo you don't get infinite, the game doesn't consist of just blasting the entire time, and the games control could take some getting used to.
Here are the features RE fans will probably like about the game: Play as two entirely new main characters, you encounter tons of gruesome monsters (returning and new), it's better than those nightmares you had from the less-than-amazing RE Survivor (and it wasn't the creatures or atmosphere that gave you the nightmares either), and it's an entirely new story line like a side-quest to the series Here are the features RE fans probably won't like about the game: The game is very short than past RE games (only about 5 hours long), there's no sense of horror or being scared at all because of all the easy monster blastin', and the control could take getting used to (even for a long time fan).
Overall this is a game that you should check out if you're a light gun fan, Resident Evil fan, or just plain Action Game fan, but make sure you bring a light gun along for this ride. |
