THE GOOD: Cute Graphics {although different to the Dream Cast version}THE BAD: The characters aren't likable, the gameplay is boring. Just too alike the Dreamcast version ;-( SUMMARY: Sorry all you Rayman fans, this game just doesn't make it for me. I loved the DreamCast version of Rayman 2 but this game just doesn't cut it for me. Sure the graphics are cute but despite it being the revolution, it's just so much more similar to the dreamcast version than I wanted. I don't know if i don't like it because I played it before but you can make your own opinion. I think it's not good enough ;-(
Although, i've got to say the music is ok, you can hum along. Also, the graphics are cute, i like them! They say it's a revolution to the way people see Rayman, I don't think they thought it'd be as bad as this though. |

THE GOOD: Nice, weird graphicsTHE BAD: convuluted, boring and tedious SUMMARY: Very average in terms of game play. Great graphics, lots of game play but for whatever reason just no fun to play whatsoever. I played it at E3 so this may not be fair but it just could not hold my interest. I don't know about the main character, I liked Rayman 2 but have always hated the main character, he is one of those characters you just don't ever really care about. |

THE GOOD: After the purchase of Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and reading several excited previews in many a game mag I decided to pick up yet another Rayman game. Unfortunately, I had failed to see it was an almost incrimentally fused port of the N64 RAYMAN2, which was the version I had bought before. Instead of returning it, I played through. Needless to say, I am glad I did. Voice-additioned dialogue and improved graphic structure make an excelling rebound for an already peaked, excellent game. The save feature added at needed points was also a plus, mystical mixed music (which was better and replaced the horrible, miffed roughs of the N64 version) gave a more solid atmosphere, along with these pros, came added bonus levels, rearranged gameplay and story structure, an additional transparent pause menu with quest status, and overall better gameplay through the use of new surroundings and bettered enviroments.THE BAD: This game had a few weak points - which I will not fail to mention. Missing links in a graphical chain was one, not only were the graphics better, but less sharp, and at some points came fuzzy or muffled, this was a small prick in the potiential to it's cunning superiority to its beforehand version. The camera remained the same - something I wished would have been cleared up, again, although it's not a horrible flaw, it does reserve some hidden potiential. One more minor flaw, was the potency that most of the storyline remained the same in some points, making it weak, although I did not count off points of the rating upon viewing over this. Graphics and camera angles were the only real losses, although the graphics had their own pros. SUMMARY: If you want a TRUE Rayman experience, take a look at this game first. All aspects were bettered from the 'parent' or sounding 'beta copy'(RAYMAN 2), this game was an astounding offspring. Please read The Good and The Bad for specific ideals about Rayman Revolution. |
