Okay the sprites. This isn't really a bad thing per se, but it's one of the lesser aspects of the game. I understand this was done on purpose, to give he game warmth, but I think they should have used better character models, like in Dark Cloud 2. That would be fine, they could still be essentially 2d and still cell-shade an everything.
Also, Marona's voice acting annoys me to no end, as I try so hard to like her. Some of the other sillier voices also take away from the vast amount of maturity I have actually found in this game. They make me feel like I'm watching a kid's cartoon almost. Walnut and Ash were very well done however, so this doesn't apply to everyone.
Also, just as an idea for the future, I love the combat, but I also love running around on phantom isle. Maybe it would be nice to run around in other places too...
Marona is a 13 year old girl who can talk to spirits. Joined by Ash, her best friend who's been dead for 8 years, she lives the eventful life of a Chroma (adveturer) in an attempt to help people, and build a better reputation than "The Possesed".
Now when I first read about this game, I had no intention of buying it. I only shelled out the 20 bucks because I had store credit and was desperate for a game that I hadn't already beaten. When I got it home, I was very pleasantly surprised.
Don't be like me, I almost missed this game. Take my word for it, this is a FANTASTIC GAME!
Go buy it. Now. Go. Did you buy it yet?
