THE GOOD: The pre rendered backgrounds are amazing!Especially the FMV. The fighting although seems to be a button masher then becomes a game of timing and perciceness.
THE BAD: The story isnt the best. The fighting despite what I said before still has room for some improvement. One particulat puzzle in the game kept me from progressing for about a week.A little short. Also the secondary character sttinks.
SUMMARY: Onimusha:Warlords. This game is what samurai hungry players have been looking for. This game despite its faults is a very good game.In this game you take the role of Samanoske, the samurai chosen by the clan of the ogres to stop the demons. The games plot is a little weak. This guy Nobunaga who died in this war wa brought back to life by the demons.....but the question here is why?Why go to all the trouble of reviving some old fart.Dont get me wrong though, despite errors and faults of this title I soon came to love it for it preety...
THE GOOD: - Nice graphics - Amazing CGi scenes - Mixture of puzzles and swordplay - Excellent enemy designs
THE BAD: - Quite linear - Too short (3 hours or so) - Bad English voice actors - Pre-rendered backgrounds can look 'detached' - Controls can be very frustrating
SUMMARY: Where to start...at the beginning! The start of the game is quite an amazing acheivement in terms of CGi animation, the introductory battle scene is astonishing, and to this day 2 years after release the only games to have rivalled the CGi mastery are Final Fantasy X and Onimusha 2. It leaves a good impression, which remains with you as you start the game with some beautiful pre-rendered backdrops, which pretty as they are, are still pre-rendered, I think it would have been sensible for Capcom to have utilised the PS2s hardware more and gone for a full 3D background, but it still looks lush nonetheless.
THE GOOD: the graphics, gameplay, characters, storyline, bosses, monsters, FMVs, and cutscenes!
THE BAD: ABSOLUTLY NOTHING
SUMMARY: This is the best game I've played! In my opinion its as good as GTA: vice City! The puzzles are challenging and fun. The weapons totaly rule. After you beat the Dark Realm you get and ocarina that will help you unlock the grandaddy of ALL weapons. Enter the Bishamon Sword, one hit death to all none-boss enemies, unlimited magic attacks, and stronger than all the other weapons put together. The final boss battle is wickedly tough. The final boss(I ain't telling you who)has an instant death attack. with RE style controls, this is an easy game to get into. It's very addictive from the start. DMC graphics and sound.
If you don't buy it, You're insane! It shames Xbox and the-worst-system-of-all-time Nintendo Gaycube. I mean Gamecube!
THE GOOD: Excellent graphics, good enemy A.I., challenging bosses, good weapons system, decent storyline, handful of extras
THE BAD: Controls take some getting used to, annoying voice overs, insanely short
SUMMARY: Right from the get go you'll probably end up dying a few times since the controls take more than a little getting used to. But onced you've got accustomed to them they are very user friendly and you'll employ the many moves at you disposal with ease. The in game graphics are very well done and throughout the game you'll encounter very different types of enemies each with their own strengths and weaknesses. A combination of different types of enemies requires a little bit of strategy on your part and battles throughout the game are sometimes challenging but at the same time very fun. The boss A.I. is excellent and most of the bosses put up a very good fight.
The voices done in the game are almost all very annoying and...
THE GOOD: Great fighter, great graphics, fun gameplay, cool enemies, awesome storyline, great bosses...
THE BAD: Repetitive levels...
SUMMARY: I can honestly say this is one of the best fighters out there. Its kinda short but its worth it anyway. It has loads of creative levels and lots of challenging puzzles for you to figure out. I was a bit surprised with it but its much better than it may look.
THE GOOD: Cool weapons, descent graphics, pretty good story
THE BAD: cruddy controls, not for the weak at heart(or stomach), bad voice overs
SUMMARY: This game is a descent action/adventure thing. In this you assume the role of Samonosuke, a warrior on a mission. The game is very bloody and thats why it is not for the weak at heart/stomach. It has some pretty challenging puzzles too. I liked the game, I think you should try it too.
THE GOOD: Interesting scenery, graphics, cool weapons and armour...
THE BAD: Being forced to watch cinematics when restarting the game. Restricted movement within levels.
SUMMARY: I was really annoyed with this game in the beginning, because it really forces you in one direction, and it acts like it is giving you options- such as asking if you want to go down a hole or ladder, but you can't go anywhere until you agree to go down... I also feel like my movement and control of the character is restricted, especially when walking the paths in the beginning, because it only lets you move around in certain areas, and navigation down a twisting narrow path is awkward when you keep bumping into the sides, because the game keeps your movement restricted to a tiny narrow field. This continues throughout the game. I had to restart the game at one point, and I was really mad when it wouldn't let me skip through the cinematics. The game starts to pick...
THE GOOD: Lots of good scenery Intricate puzzles - a few Only one real hang-up spot Great action The Panda suit Easy to power up your weapons
THE BAD: Not enough bosses - easy bosses Button masher - hack and slash One (only one) almost impossible puzzle (the rest were fairly easy)
SUMMARY: This was really the first must-own game for PS2. There really wasn't a whole lot out there before this, except for a few sports games. In the action/adventure category this came first. The game is set in warring feudal Japan. You, the young warrior have to defeat the evil/magical Nobunaga, while embarking on a journey to save a princess.
It is very epic in look and feel, just not in length. Even though the backgrounds are pre-rendered, the camera is never really a problem, a la Devil May Cry. It has a feel very similar to Resident Evil. The game has some excellent cinemas, especially the first opening...
THE GOOD: Great weapons, the graphics make the ps2 proud, and panda suit rules all!
THE BAD: very short, but oni-spirits makes up for some of that
SUMMARY: Even though the game is short it is well worth the price especially as on of the greatest hits(being only 20$) the small amount of time that you play will leave you wanting more. The only reason this game didn't get a perfect score from me is because of the length but that is not that bad go buy this game
